I tried to install on a P4P800 I believe it was... my friends computer, with a 2.4Ghz P4 and it simply wouldn't work.. .after DDing froma linux boot CD it just gets through the bios and then hangs with a blinking DOS cursor at the top of the screen... as if its just not seeing a boot sector on the Hard Disk. We then tried to install on my computer, a P4 3.73 EE with an Abit AA8XE Fatal1ty motherboard and after it gets through the "verifying DMI pool data" it simply hangs with that same blinking DOS cursor. Any suggestions as to whats going on or how I can fix this??

If it's the same exact occurrence, then something went wrong on your procedures at some point. Try reading over the instructions or use another guide. No one here saying that it will work on all machines, but try other how-to. Maybe you'll get lucky.

Does your iTunes attempt to open and then just close on you?

Try downloading this program in Windows:

http://www.cpuid.org/download/cpu-z-130.zip

Check to MAKE SURE your CPU supports SSE3. Not all Pentium 4's do.

However, you could always try the latest Maxxuss .04 SSE3to2 patch, it does have an uninstall.
