This means it cannot find your hard drive. (Still waiting for root device in verbose boot mode)

Reinstalling from your OS X disc is the easiest solution, unless you have a Windows drive or partition that is working right now, then you can just find a kext on this site for your motherboard and install it onto your OS X drive using MacDrive.

To help you, what is your motherboard model or the model number of the computer if it is from a manufacturer ie. Dell, HP, Gateway etc...

The motherboard is a Biostar P4M800-M7 Motherboard

If the board has the intel ICH5 southbridge:

SATA must be set to AHCI mode in the BIOS if you are using a SATA drive.

If you're using a PATA drive IIRC you need pick a patched version of AppleIntelPIIATA.kext under 'customize'.

If it has a VIA southbridge you need to install VIA chipset drivers.

If it has an nForce southbridge, you need to install nForce chipset drivers.

And so on.

Try different BIOS settings for the drive controller.

Look up the specs on the motherboard manufacturer's website or in your motherboard manual. If you have Windows installed, you can also look it up in the Device Manager.

Thanks i got it to work know just one thing when is boots up to the welcome screen i have extreme mouse lag why is that?

and what do i have to do to fix it?

Do you have full video acceleration? Open System Profiler, click Graphics, Core Image and Quartz extreme should read "Hardware Accelerated" and "supported". If not, there's a problem with your video drivers.

Try unplugging your mouse before booting, then plug it in once it's done. Apparently slow USB devices can prevent proper initialization of the USB bus on some installations.

Try booting with no USB devices attached at all. Plug them in one by one. You get the idea.

i tried the unplug mouse then plug it back in i dont think its the video drivers this is the error i get

EHCI Root HUB simulation 0x900000000 cause overcurrent condition the hub attach has been disable.

when the mac os boots up for like a second an error pops up about the usb

You need to find someone who has the same motherboard chipset as you and see what they've done to fix it. I don't know anything about VIA chipsets and I've never seen that error before. Try typing the error into google or the search box up top and see what you can come up with.

You can try Slice's patched USB kexts but I don't know if they will work on your motherboard.

Type Slice USB 2.0 in the search to find the thread.

Hi!

You must have the kexts one is going to install on a separate media (USB Flash or something). Name the media the name you could easily remember and type if required.

Boot from the Install DVD (the disk you've been installing OS X from). Chose Terminal from Utilities menu. Now comes the difficult part :)

type

cp -R /Volumes/usbdiskname/NameOfTheKext.kext /Volumes/NameOfTheDiskOSXisInstalledTo/System/Library/Extensions/

Now open Disk Utility and repair permissions.

The end.

Now open Disk Utility and repair permissions.

Or stay in terminal

rm -r -v /System/Library/Extensions/Caches/com.apple.kext.info

rm -r -v /System/Library/Extensions.mkext

chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions

chmod -R go=u-w /System/Library/Extensions

touch /System/Library/Extensions/

Also, if a kext already has the correct permissions set on it, copying it with cp -pR will maintain them.
