He jumped out of the window and fell to what would have to be a gruesome death. He worked for a company called Foxconn, which was under investigation by Apple for workplace conditions. Foxconn itself is a major player in manufacturing and Apple uses it to make iPods and iPhones. Apple related Murder. Dude, that s.hit is sad. F.uck apple for allowing this to happen and not compensating the family. It gives me more reason to not buy snow leopard and get it from the green demon. Posted July 23, 2009 Share Posted July 23, 2009 If the Chinese concept of honor resembles the Japanese one even a little, being falsely accused of having brought shame onto the company might end up in a suicide. Not always, but occasionally. I just do not see where and how Apple is responsible. They only use them as a producer, and so far nothing had happened in this company - plus, Apple WAS already investigating the workplace conditions, so they do evaluate their partners - which is very rare in respect to Chinese OEMs, most companies do not care about the workplace conditions of their producers as long as it's no sweat shop. DukeRaoul Posted July 31, 2009 Share Posted July 31, 2009 Foxconn makes more than the iPhone - they make Mac Pro's motherboards, Mac Mini's, Nintendo Wii's, Motorola phones... etc. They probably make more stuff for Apple than I mentioned above, but I can't say for sure. The motherboard in my G4 PowerMac has the Foxconn brand on its IDE connectors. They also make a lot of Dell's motherboards and chassis components. Foxconn is a behemoth in the computer/electronics world. But since they make most of Apple's computer mobo's, I decided to try one out when I build my special custom PC (975X7AB, includes Intel 975 chipset, ICH7R southbridge, Realtek ALC882 audio, Marvell Yukon 88E8056 gigabit ethernet x2, and so on). I have been happy with their products, but I have heard bad things in news reports about them. Like that they are such a strict employer that employees are forced to work long overtime for small pay, and managers are more like drill sergeants and they whip the employees and stuff. So those happy little Nintendo Wii's are products of slavery, ha ha. Read that he was locked in a room and questioned constantly as to where he had left it.. And placed under almost what could be considered a form of house arrest.. Could be wrong, though.
