solaar
I don't know if this is old news but definitely good news all the same. I got Omni's ATI driver (callisto) to work on my Acer Hac - (specs below). If you follow omni's instructions *to the T* chances are high you'll be able to get your proper widescreen res. I have all available resolutions now in the system prefs Nice one omni!! PS. QE and CI are gone with this patch but my eyes (and head) are very grateful for a crisp picture btw... mouse tearing and artefacts are gone too Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/17603-ati-widescreen-res-good-news/ Share on other sites

melonpool
^^^ Callisto fixed my resolution, but the CI/QE instructions in Omni's FAQ made my monitor freak out. I had to boot into single-user mode and change it back. The resolution is good though. dk5151
Callisto seems to recognize what my default resolution should be (1280x800) right before it boots, but once it boots up I just get a black screen with some lines running down the left side. I had to remove the Callisto .kext files through the command prompt to get back into the OS. Any ideas? I have a mobility 9600, and other people are reporting success with it. Takuro
I just thought I'd mention this, but if QE and CI are disabled, mouse tearing will be gone. This isn't a benefit of the driver itself, but rather a biproduct of your problems with QE and CI. Therefore, should you get it working properly, tearing will be back.
