Well I'm not just new to OS x and never really used a Mac before.

Just getting the hang of XP.

So in your experence whats good and useful software?

Pretent money isn't a problem, or list great freeware.

A good systems program, firewall, antivirus, the essentals

and Multimedia programs, all the extras.

It'll be good to see what you Mac uses value

Thanks, Free30

Mention things that might not work on OS x86 as they soon will or there be a work around.

On intel mac you can do everything.

The Best tools you need are:

No Virus Scan

Firewall: LittleSnitch

Office: MS Office 2004

Burning: Toast

Multimedia: Built in (iTunes,QuickTime,DVDPlayer)

Creative: Adobe Suite (not native yet, but soon) + Aperture (testing yet)

ProVideo,Mastering: Final Cut Studio

one of the most important is PARALLELS!

Its a Virtual Machine, with VM Processors it runs nearly native a

Windows in your OSX. If you want to forget about the rest and use a

Windows App (I'm using PSpice electronic CAD) press Alt+Enter and you get

FullScreen Windows. Thats really impressive!

With BootCamp and Parallels everything works!

There aren't arguments against mac except the price.

Have fun!
