Ok. So hopefully in the next month or so I will be building a new pc as compatible with leopard that i can build. The only consideration for parts I'm really stuck on is a tv-tuner. Its the only thing that keeps me switching back to windows, or even keeping a dual boot. My tv tuner uses: First, I get analog cable at school and would like to set up a dvr for that. Secondly, the cable has HD chanels broadcast over it that you can view as long as you have a HDTV. My last hyrbid hauppage tuner couldn't get these hd chanels, and i've read up on it, but dont fully understand what I need. P.S. I live in the U.S.

Are there any pci or usb cards that can handle both tasks? or maybe a pci card for the analog aspects and another for the digital signal decoding? should be unencrypted qam right? please help.

Yeah, didnt expect too many ppl to respond to this topic. Do mac users just not watch tv lol? I found this (these) cards at hauppage.

They support analog tv and clear qam which should be good enough for me. And the price is quite lower than the eyetv's. Question:

1) Anyone have either of these cards?

2) If so, does the black one work in osx? Or, is there a remote for the white one?

3) Is there other software that can use it?

As far as I know EyeTV is the only tv software for MacOS X, so you should get a tuner that works with it. At their website there is a list of supported devices (not only eye-tv branded but also some other, cheaper).

my Hauppauge HD PVR works great with HDTV/SD TV in combination with Eye TV
