lizkin
Hi, I had a 900hd running perfectly but thinking also to update to 1005HA It should be quite similar to the 1000HA. Amacx86
I've been trying with my 1005HAB for a week or so with little luck. iDeneb 10.5.6 boots flawlessly off the USB drive and installs. However, regardless of the flags I pick, the machine hangs forever on reboot. Leos4All won't even get to the install screens off the DVD, but reboots shortly into the boot process. Bets buy sells the thing for 300 bucks, and that's not to shabby. julesism
Hello, I was able to get OS X running on my 1005HAB following the how-to below: http://smallcomputing.net/2009/02/25/how-t...1000he-netbook/ Only big problem I've run into is no LAN/WLAN yet. I used iDeneb 1.3 (10.5.5) as stated. I ran the 10.5.6 upgrade, got video back (reinstalled kext) but sound is m.i.a. now. I'll mess with it more tomorrow\later. I found that as well, LOL and well I'mma still on 10.5.5 but I'mma gonna try laterz today to get 10.5.6 and then maybe 10.5.7 As for the wifi and lan, there both atheros implemenations, and the autheros BSD driver now supports the 9285 chip so maybe someone can recomple it for macOS, I just wish I could get a retail version working then I wouldn't have to worry that much about breaking things. well for now, what usb wifi sticks work out of the box? terramir Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/173048-eee-pc-1005hab-is-it-possible-to-install-leopard/#findComment-1201899 Share on other sites

John LeBaron
I have 1005hab 1gig Ignore misspelled words. Install Disc iDeneb v.1.3 10.5.5 Boot Device R-Driver III USB 2.0 IDE Cable with Sony DL-DVD Drive Boot into XP............................................................................. Wow, great tutorial (in your reply. Must have taken some time to write it:) I have an 1005HA and used this method http://smallcomputing.net/2009/02/25/how-t...1000he-netbook/ All works but Wifi and Lan. Gonna buy this http://rokland.com/store/product_info.php?products_id=336 for the wireless unless someone has figured out how to change the wireless card and knows which one to use so that I can use it with 7 and XP also. If my memory is correct only Idenebe 1.3 works easily. I am sure gurus can do it with others but I wasn't able to. But before I followed it (the link above on how to install on a 1000HE) I had to delete the two smaller partitions (left Xp and the empty one). It would not work until I did that. For the method I used to work the restore partition and the one with the restore image have to be deleted. I have no idea why I had to install Bootmagic 8.0 in the XP partition and easyBCD 1.7.2 in Windows 7 (just one would not do it for me - but then I am not a computer guru). I also had to put back the ntldr file in XP (once I installed 7 - I installed 7 last after OSX and XP worked harmoniously with OSC's boot loader - I think its called a bootloader) through DOS after initial installation of 7. So if you have unlimited time (if you smarter than me it may be shorter) you can get all three on the same computer (if you don't want 7 and actually like Vista you can do that very easily with bootmagic 8.0 only and put it on XP - 7 is what screws it all up and makes it difficult) and working just fine with no hitches. Have fun and don't forget to let us all in on it when someone figures out the factory wifi. Ebonyplague
I am sorry guys if I dont remember the exact procedure that I used when I did the install. I had tried so many different things at the time that I can't remember the EXACT steps. but I will help you out as best I can and try to remember what I can. Right now on the 1005HAB I have my partitions as follows: C: (NTFS) 40 Gigs (Primary) *: (Other) 90 Gigs (Primary) ACTIVE *: (Other) 39.4 MB (Primary) I also remember that I had installed "Easeus Partition Manager" in WinXP, I think it is a free partition manager. I don't remember if my 1005HAB had the small EFI partition as the first partition or not, but I definitely remember using Easeus PM to resize the NTFS partition down so that I had 90 gigs free unallocated space. I would say that if you have the small EFI partition to delete it so that it becomes "unallocated space". I think this is important because the Chameleon loader needs to see the OSX partition as the 2nd partition on the drive. I am not sure if I formatted the 90 gig unallocated space before I went to install OSX from the iDeneb 1.5 (1.5.7) disk, but I do remember that the iDeneb install went very smoothly. So I think it all came down to properly preparing the drive beforehand. I am really sorry that I dont remember the exact steps that I took but at the I was working on trying to dual boot WinXP/OSX on three different types of netbooks at the same time. So it is a little confusing right now trying to remember my exact steps on the 1005HAB. But the partition scheme you see above is the actual one on the current 1005HAB and everything is working perfectly on that machine. If you have any other questions please let me know and I will try my best to try and remember or I can look on the machine and let you know any of my current settings. Hope this is useful. ~Ebonyplague Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/173048-eee-pc-1005hab-is-it-possible-to-install-leopard/#findComment-1218560 Share on other sites
yblanco
Thanks to all for your help. I used the Easeus PM and got rid of EFI partition. iDened 1.3 install went fine.
