rorydaredking Posted June 17, 2009 Share Posted June 17, 2009 Basically, I cannot go onto the screensaver prefpane in system preferences, or the app crashes as unresponsive. The desktop tab of the same option (desktop and screensaver) works fine. On what I would guess is a related issue, iPhoto will not fullscreen photos. What Imean by this is that when you normally double click and it fulscreens, it crashes as unresponsive. I'm pretty sure these problems came after my 10.5.7 update, but it might have just been since my last install which was about a week before 10.5.7 and I didnt notice beforehand. Before that reinstall, I had a perfect hackintosh, but had to redo it all so I could get the shared drive partitioned correctly. screensaver and iPhoto both worked fine. Then yesterday, completely wiped the Macintosh HD partition, reinstalled, installed iPhoto, and still crashes and screensaver prefpane crashes. any ideas guys? And all 3 installs, the 1 good and 2 bad, have been iPC 10.5.6. System is funny updated too, but still problems are there. Also, yesterday after the install, I tried both and they were still broken before the update. So im poretty confused about it all. Im running Dell inspiron 530 Q9450 4GB 500GB (300 for shared files and 165 for os x) 160GB (windows 7) AtI Radeon HD 2600XT Pci-E Thank in advance guys... I have searched, but not much comes up. The iphoto thing was on aple support, but the solutions they suggested didnt work. Dabluest Posted June 17, 2009 Share Posted June 17, 2009 I think he meant are Quartz Extreme and Core Image listed as Hardware Accelerated and Supported under System Profile? That could be it if they're not. It says Quartz Extreme Not Supported So I'm guessing thats the root of my problem. Steep learning curve here, my most serious problems in the past have been kp's and missing kexts easily solved by searching... Will a graphics driver update solve this? I used the preinstaled one from the iPC disc in drivers for my card, but I also have the most recent kext made bythe hackers here.
