Okay, I have the Asus M2NPV-VM motherboard. This has the 6150 chipset in it. If I were to buy a different video card would it work, or does the chipset contain other stuff that I cannot use if I can't have a 6150 driver?

If someone could explain the difference between a chipset and video card, that would be great, but if you don't have the time, I completely understand.

If you buy a dedicated graphics card and attach it, then that card will trumph the integrated graphics unit built into the motherboard. Your chipset is not the graphics card, its actually the nForce 430 south bridge. It's purpose is to connect the PCI, SATA, IDE, and other slots together and relay information. Almost everything on this board is supported, however if you install a graphics card youll have to use modified nvidia drivers to get it working properly.

You will be able to run OS X, but you will not be able to get graphics drivers for you machine (the 6150 is not supported in leopard) and you will be stuck with VESA reslolutions (1024x768 etc.) and horrible graphics. I would suggest getting a good nvidia card (8 or 9) series if you want full graphics support.

Here's what I've got working on my motherboard.

Sound (99%), Reboot, Shutdown, Graphics, USB, Network (Lan and wireless), and full chipset support.

Running 64bit 10.5.7 w/ voodoo 9.5 kernel
