It's auto detected and works "fine" in my system but very unstable got kernel panic every couple of minutes. I am sure it's the wireless, since if I uninstall IO8011Family.kext, the system run hours with no problem. yoeddy Posted June 7, 2009 Share Posted June 7, 2009 Same to me with D-Link DWA-547 AR5416. Got 10.5.7 on Gigabyte EX-58 UD5. With loaded IO80211family.kext the system works fine untill Airport is activated. I tried to use kext from 10.5.6 also kernel panic somtimes the even system freezes. Finally deinstalled kext and pci adapter using macbook for surfing! Any suggestions? Now the D-Link DWA-547 AR5416 works again, with 10.5.6 IO80211family.kext version 2.1.4 My card worked with 10.5.6 stock IO80211Family.kext version 2.1.4 and did not after version 2.1.5 from AirPort Client Update 2009-001 Airport is now activated as desktop is loaded. Runs FAAAST! And very stable, too After further testing, AirPort Client Update 2009-001 can be installed too. It's only a matter of saving BIOS CMOS again w/ the same settings when wireless network is not recognized. This happens mostly after switching from Win__ . Post #535 What network cards work?, List your network card that runs native. Working in Win7 and Ubuntu but doesn't auto detect in OSX Vanilla 10.5.7. Any one have any ideas on debugging? -- I was using the Airport utility and it didn't find any hardware... is there any other way to see if OSX is even detecting the card? Also tried About this Mac and it didn't show it... Thanks.
