robertoSTUDIOS
With ApplePS2controller.kext I could not make scrolling working in Leopard. And then I tried to load VoodooPS2 but it just start outputing lots of "@^" to the terminal the mouse and keyboard did not work.... So I want to make clear whether VoodooPS2 only works with Snow Leopard or can work with Leopard? I use these kexts also in Leopard ago, and my trackpad is working good all system. (two finger scroll, all...) But test the official installer from: http://forum.voodooprojects.org/index.php/topic,235.0.html

espe2007
Hi all For those who want Dual Monitor or more with OSX86 you may check or test USB to DVI adapter (DisplayLink norm) I have bought one and using it with my Elitebook 8530w and it works pretty fine. Not as fast as my main built-in display, but that's ok for most of the applications I am using except applications that need QE like iMovie, etc. Give it a try Espe

macfan45
So a friend of mine and myself have been attempting to get snow leopard working on our elitebooks for two weeks now with no success. We always get kernel panics. He has used a method I am not familiar with that requires restoring the snow leopard retail disk to a flash drive and editing files on the drive. I just tried the hazard disk that the above user has mentioned, with the exact same items checked off and I still got a kernel panic. Can anyone help or point me in the right direction. BTW iPC 10.5.6 with the additional installs mentioned on the first page in this thread have worked for me. Thanks in advanced.

breakoff
It succeed again by iDeneb V1.6 10.5.8 version. Now you can install the osx very easily in this version, just remember to change the AHCI to IDE first before you install the osx, and after you finish your installation, you can change to IDE mode back to AHCI. (This just fix the problem for "still wait for root device) This was my option. OSx86 Components: • Bootloader ⁃ Chameleon v2 • Kernel ⁃ Vanilla 9.8.0 • iDeneb x86 Essential Patches ⁃ AppleDecrypt ⁃ AppleSMBIOSEFI ⁃ Disabler ⁃ DSDT Patcher ⁃ OpenHaltRestart ⁃ Time Machine Fix ⁃ Apple PS/2 Old ⁃ System Profiler Fix ⁃ About This Mac Fix iDeneb x86 Additional Patches ( 10.5.8 ) • Fix ⁃ IdleHaltFix ⁃ IOUSBFamilyFix • Drivers ⁃ VoodooHDA ⁃ AHCI Fix ⁃ Intel ICHx Fixed • System Management ⁃ VoodooBattery Manager ⁃ VoodooPowerVideo • Video ⁃ NVinject (If you need to plug second monitor, pls following directing) Modify your NVinject.kext NVCAP value. The FX770m's NVCAP value is "04000000 00000d00 40000000 00000007 00000000" modify and save it, and reboot your osx, After restart your osx, you just detect displays, you will get 2 displays... Enjoy. macfan45
So I was finally able to get the hazard disk to work. From their forums I discovered that you had to delete a kext:\ 1. Download the Extra and kexts package provided by Mianos here: http://dievolksvertreter.de/downloads/E ... wKexty.zip Save the zip file on a USB key (formated as FAT - readable in Mac OS) 2. Get Hazard ISO of Mac OS Snow (the one we are talking about on this forum) 3. Install it with this: - basic install + - Update 10.6.2 Combo + - Chameleon V2 RC3 10.5 (works also with 10.3) - VoodooHDA That's it. You can try adding other stuffs if needed. It wasn't necessary for me. 4. After install, if you reboot normally you will get a Kernel panic So when you have the "Chameleon" screen, press any key You enter the options mode type " -x " and then enter (you specify that you are booting in safe mode) Rem: whatever install you do with Hazard ISO, it will boot in safe mode. 5. You enter Mac OS Snow in safe mode. Now remove the file: rm -R /System/Library/Extensions/IOPlatformPluginFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin.kext 6. With OSX86 Tools Update cache mkext, etc. (Actually, I sounds like this step is not mandatory) 7. Insert your USB Key and copy the folder Extra (on your USB key) to the root of your Mac OS installation (/). The com.apple.Boot.plist contains the right String for the graphic card nVidia FX 770 M (512 Mb). don't forget to put it in the folder /Extra 8. Reboot normally now You should have a clean working Mac OS Snow. Good luck and enjoy Espe Now I cannot get audio working at all. Was wondering if anyone could help. System Profiler reports that I have an Intel High Definition Audio with a device ID: 0x103C30E7. Thanks. So it turns out the kernel extensions that I had weren't 64 bit, which explains why when I boot into 32 bit mode I got sound.
macfan45
So it turns out I needed to boot into the 32 bit kernel but the problems never stop. Does anyone have their headphone port working?
purr
Hi, I have Hazard 10.6.2 running on my 8530w. While my hard drive works with 10.6 in AHCI mode, my DVD drive does not. Both my hard drive and DVD drive work in IDE mode. Does anyone have a solution to this problem? Looking around it appears that some people are not having this problem, so my only conclusion is that HP is putting significantly different DVD drives in different 8530ws. Also looking through the forum, I saw several references to having sleep working, but I still have not gotten it working. I tried the sleep enabler kext, but it gave me a kernel panic. If anyone gets the headphone output working please tell us how you did it. Thanks, Ian
