I am currently running OSx86 on my AMD64 Venice system and have everything but my network adapter and my ATi card working (obviously).

But I am now ready to build a new OSx86 *only* machine and am wondering if this Shuttle barebones mobo would work with sound and networking. It has the GMA900 chip, so thats a defenite. But its the rest I am unsure of. Thanks for any help!

Shuttle XPC SB83G5M

The smaller pc shops I deal with seem to be able to order just about anything you could ask for. So try some smaller reputable shops in your area. You could also just try a google search for that part number and see what comes up as far as online stores go.

Right now I just want to find out if the mobo in there will have full support lan and audio wise. Even if lan doesnt work, I can still add a compatible network card. So that just leaves audio being the main concern.

This one might be better XPC SD31P

has the 945 chipset and GMA 950 video

mobo FD31 (proprietary)

Intel® 945G + ICH7-R chipset

1066/800/533 MHz FSB

(1) x1 PCI Express slot

Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 950

(1) x16 PCI Express slot

I run the Shuttle XPC SB83G5M at home, and I've got full hardware support on it.

The only thing I added to it was a Netgear WG311T which 10.4.6 sees as an Airport card (after changing the NetworkInterfaces.plist file to use en1 instead of en0)

I think you'll be happy with the results using the SB83G5M.

Cheers

Andrew.
