Instead of trying to get any PC to run OSx86, is it possible to build a new PC and select parts to duplicate the apple hardware in their intel macs? And I mean SUPPORTED hardware, not just compatible hardware with no real drivers or running on generic or hacked drivers. Especially the video card, for example, if you use an ATI X1600, would OSx86 load the supported drivers for it? If it's possible, please list the hardware to purchase that is supported in OSX for intel. Might be interesting to see whether if the total price of the hardware is less or exceeds the price of an intel Mac mini or iMac.

No, it's not possible. EFI and TPM prevent it

Yes if you want a total support of OSX you need EFI and actually I don't know a mother board who's compatible.

Conclusion : If you want a computer to run OSX and windows without problems ... buy a mac, or wait a little to buy a Mac Pro desktop. But it's always the same way ... the mac way

true, I forgot about EFI restriction. I guess we'll have to wait till Intel releases an EFI motherboard, which will depend on if and when Vista supports EFI.

Of course you can always buy a Mac, but then where's the fun in that?

Even if you don't count the TPM/EFI issue, the price of a home-built system with similar performance to a Mac mini will likely exceed the cost of a Mac mini, and you wouldn't have Apple's warranty, a legit copy of the OS, and all of the other software that is included. My system cost roughly the same as the previous model Mac mini and I often wish I had simply saved up the extra $100 or so and put it towards a new one.
