PaU7sKi
Pretty much I am a newb when it comes to the OSX on PC stuff, so is there anyone kind enough to point me in the right direction to get started. I also come here to ask for your help because I just got a new Sony Vaio SZ120 dual core and wondering if this will run OSX? here are the specs: http://www.learningcenter.sony.us/Notebook...arch1/SZCompare There are so many updates that I don't even know where to start. And if I do find a tutorial, its either outdated or confusing. Is there anyone with the patience to give me links or better yet, type me up a quick tutorial on how to get this beautiful OS on my beautiful PC? THank you sooo much! Swad
Welcome to the forum. It's really not all that confusing... 1. Check out the compatibility guides on the wiki for info on your specs. 2. Follow the instructions with the patches wherever you found them. U.C.
It looks like ur PC will run MacOSX86. What u need to do now is 1) Goto Demonoid/Piratebay 2) Download a suitable image NOTE: I would recommend u download the 10.4.3 .DMG file, Convert it to .ISO using UltraISO and then apply the JaS v4.2b PPF Patcher to it. U can also use the 10.4.4 or 10.4.5 prepatched images, but they dont have proper ACPI support for laptops. Though u should give the 10.4.6 Image a go, cause u have a Core Duo. 3) Burn the DVD 4) Install it 5) If u have any problems, ask around. I would be willing to help as much as i can Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/16338-this-place-is-so-confusing-can-anyone-point-me-to-the-right-direction/#findComment-105242 Share on other sites

U.C.
If u get some error box while booting saying AppleAC97Audio or AppleIntel ICHAudio.kext cold not be loaded, u probably need to give ur kexts the proper permissions, in order to get sound Use the foll commands in terminal cd / <-- press enter cd /system/library/extensions <-- press enter sudo chmod -R 755 Your Kext.kext <-- press enter sudo chown -R root:wheel Your Kext.kext <-- press enter If u have a 855GM, there is support only in 10.4.1 If u have a GMA900 then yes i think 10.4.3 would be better. If u have ATI or Nvidia i have no idea. Search around. But 10.4.3 supports Pentium M's powermanagement features better than 10.4.4/5/6. SO u dont have to disable speedstep Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/16338-this-place-is-so-confusing-can-anyone-point-me-to-the-right-direction/#findComment-105327 Share on other sites
