My bro's box wanna Graphic update, after my research, it seems that HD 4870 (http://www.sapphiretech.com/us/produ...gpid=245&grp=3) is more powerful as it goes with the newest Mac Pro, but 9800 GTX (http://www.xfxforce.com/en-us/Produc...spx?lang=en-us) seems more stable and the drivers for OS X is better, so can someone here tell me which one is more friendly or issueless with Leopard ?

Or can someone recommend the most powerful Graphic that is fully compactible with OS x86?

Thanks in advance!!

The 4870 is very powerful and beats the 9800 hands down. In OSX it has issues with sleep. Otherwise works great. I personally used the Sapphire 4870 512MB in my rig for a week.

It seems there will be a new low power /heat version of the 9800GT comming out soon, might be worth the wait.

Else, the 9600GT is maybe a better deal; it's cheaper and almost as powerfull as the 9800.

Good luck anyway.

You do need an adequate CPU to not bottleneck the card, but I recently upgraded from an XFX 7950 GTX to an eVGA 9800 GTX+. The 9800 GTX+ is a monster, so far it's performed amazingly and took literally 2 seconds to get working in OS X. There's a thread about it in the GFX/Hardware section of the forum. All I had to do was download the installer package, insert a GFX string, and it worked 100% on reboot.

Yeah but the 4870 is even faster! The 4850 is the same speed as the 9800GTX+, the 4870 is as fast as a GTX 260, pretty much...
