With nForce4 chipset motherboards, only PATA Hard Disk Drives are fully working... There is a driver going round which enables SATA HDD's, but it isn't very good at the minute, and is currently corrupting most SATA HDD's, so I wouldn't recommend you try it out just yet ;)

So it seems nvidia's amd chipset nforce4 is supported, but is the RAID portion supported?

RAID on Mac OS X is handled by itself but only in the supported chipsets by software, there are PCI card by 3th parties but they only have Drivers for PPC macs.

So onboard RAID chipsets like the nVidia, VIA, Promise, Highpoint or Silicon Image are not supported.
