halo1982
After screwing around with it all this weekend I now have nearly everything on my HPCompaq NX9010 working. The modem doesn't work (haven't touched one in years) CardBus doesn't (same goes for that) and I have no sound, also the video is just Vesa2 (Radeon RS200M...I'm magical trevor around with the Radeon7000.kext soon). But it looks SO NICE! And its all patched and I moved it to a 40GB partition. I can't wait til a real Mactel comes out. domino
As for me, i am really impressed with this pre-wateveruwannacallit version. So impressed that I will be recomending the product to my clients when it is officially released. When I have my XPC fully converted, this will be my demo to clients so they can purchase the real thing. canguro
Well, just today i got a copy of osx, and installed it (it was the deadmoo`s image patched for generic install dvd) and it work`s, was a little hard to do, i had to install windows twice, and now, windows fcks up and doesn`t want to start.. so, i decided to give osx a shot, and now, i dont want let it go =P. Successfull installed on HP Compaq NC6000. PD: The video doesn`t work. (ATi Mobility Radeon 9600 32MB (M10)) Neither the sound... (still working on it - SoundMax AC`97) The network (broadcom netXtreme blabla works. And the rest is just story =P Well, let`s work on a ATi driver for fully OS X! cyrana
Congrats. on the last person, I have an NC6000, and everything works, btw. (No graphics acceleration, but I run at 1400x1050 fine w/the Graphics Mode command). You have to delete the ATIRadeon9700 kext, though. And sound works for me, it was just muted by default for some reason. On a side note, I'd not move wholly to a mactel system. Until we know for sure if we'll ever see OS patches (10.4.2, etc), I'd be slightly wary. At least a lot of newer apple apps seem to want 10.4.2 and this trend will continue. But, other than those I agree it is really functional. domino
Well, speaking for myself, I use ssh clients, ftp clients, opera, Photoshop, Tomato Torrent, Office Suite, and iTunes. So as long as those work, I i'm fine with this version. Hopefully when the real MacTel is released, I can imediately run out and get one and not worry about unsupported software and hardware.
