TerraPhantm
Hi, I've installed Jas' 10.4.6 DVD w/ the PPF1 patch. The install went smoothly with no error messages. The options I installed were 10.4.6 AMD, AMD SSE3, and Via/NforceATA My specs are as follow: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ (OC'd to 2.8GHz, but is completely stable) DFI LanParty UT Ultra-D (NF4) ATi Radeon X800Pro 1GB RAM 30GB IDE harddive (the one I installed OSX to) 300GB SATA harddrive I've attached a picture of the screen with the error. Colonel
I had the same problem when I used my 20GB HD. Then I got a 40GB and it worked fine. Maybe the problem is your hard drive. Try using a different one. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/15709-help-osx-wont-boot/#findComment-100878 Share on other sites

TerraPhantm
Thanks Worked perfectly. Just wondering, am I taking a performance hit by installing the SSE2 thing rather then SSE3? johnnylemar
Thanks for the reply Hal, I had tried that, but the only option i saw was a bundled option, for intel and amd, sse2/3....etc, etc..Nothing to just choose intel sse2, instead of sse3 on its own... Are there any detailed instructions for appyling Jas's ppf patch, I'am new at this. I am trying to sort out a boot problem with 4.6, it installs up to the last boot, then just hangs on a black screen, then reboots. Same thing over and over again. Any suggestions, or help plz...Thanks in advance Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/15709-help-osx-wont-boot/#findComment-102516 Share on other sites

Cat_7 Hi, how do you do this. Is it before you burn the dvd. I'am new to all this. Some detailed instructions would be handy, thanks. Mac OSX Coder
cat_7 can you send me your mach_kernel along with how to install it? Thanks! To install the patch, simply DL the new jas patch. Run PPF-Omatic (Sorry don't have name with me right now, but it's in there) Assuming you run windows, go to PPF GUI (I think) and then Windows. Run that program, find your 10.4.6 ISO, and the patch, apply and burn to the DVD Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/15709-help-osx-wont-boot/#findComment-102988 Share on other sites
