coleshill121
Hi, I can now no longer use the internet, apparently the is 'No Airport Card Detected' These are the relevant updates I think: 2009-03-02 10:52:21 +0000: Installed "Security Update 2009-001" (1.0) 2009-03-05 19:06:56 +0000: Installed "AirPort Utility Software Update 2009-001" (5.4.1) 2009-03-05 19:06:58 +0000: Installed "AirPort Client Update 2009-001" (1.0) I have tried reinstalling the 'Broadcom' package that I used last time (from iPC 10.5.6) but it didn't work this time. coleshill121
I installed the update and did not have any issues Are you sure its related to the update? I'm fairly sure it is, I have been using it without fault for about a month now and it has suddenly stopped the same day as the update. Is there a file that I can look at to see whether it will accept the card. Do you have the same card as me? What method did you use to install it? I'm using iPC with the Broadcom package. Thanks for your reply Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/156407-dell-1395-problems-after-airport-update/#findComment-1100263 Share on other sites

jake123
Maybe you need to re-add your Device ID to the Info.plist if you did that before. I used to have to on my old laptop. Mine is also dead. I've reinstalled some broadcom wifi networking package, but it doesn't appear to work. I'm going to try to swap it with another Dell Truemobile wifi card. Let me know if you find a solution! golfrguy
Same problem here, my current fix is to just keep booting with -f Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/156407-dell-1395-problems-after-airport-update/#findComment-1100568 Share on other sites
Neonkoala
Don't use the scripts, manually add your ID in the Info.plist and see if that helps, those packages and scripts are probably designed for older versions of the kexts. Neonkoala
Thanks, is there a link to show us how to do this? Thanks Maybe somewhere, it's quite easy, open up Terminal then do the following: 1. sudo -s 2. cd /System/Library/Extensions/IO80211Family.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleAirPortBrcm4311.kext/Contents/ 3. nano Info.plist 4. Look for the list of device IDs here then add a new string or key inbetween with your own. 5. Press ctrl + O to save it. 6. cd ../../ 7. chown -R root:wheel AppleAirPortBrcm4311.kext 8. chmod -R 755 AppleAirPortBrcm4311.kext 9. Reboot and use the -f flag.
