  1. VMWare image problems...

    BUMP Please... anyone?!
  2. When booting with -v on VMWare with prebuilt disk image (the one that is 1.9gb compressed) I get an error... It says: localhost ReportCrash[42] Saved crashreport to /Library/Logs etc. etc. I can run dual boot perfectly normally (Not VMWare)... I'm on a Dell Vostro 1510 2.4ghz, 4gb ram, 320gb hdd, nvidia 8400gs etc. Any help much appreciated
  3. Hi, Thanks for this topic... saved me creating one! I think what you need to do is insert the Kalyway (or whatever you are using) disk and boot with -s. Then type 'fdisk -e /dev/rdisk0' If it is on your primary hard drive and then type 'Flag 2' assuming that OS X is on the second partition. Then type 'write' and 'quit' and then 'reboot'. Also I was wondering how I now remove the Windows bootloader safely, I tried with Easybcd but it cannot detect my bootload to delete it. Thanks!
  4. Dell 1395 Problems after Airport Update.

I have done all these things, but the problem remains... has anyone else got a suggestion?
  5. Dell 1395 Problems after Airport Update.

Thanks, is there a link to show us how to do this? Thanks
  6. Dell 1395 Problems after Airport Update.

I'm fairly sure it is, I have been using it without fault for about a month now and it has suddenly stopped the same day as the update. Is there a file that I can look at to see whether it will accept the card. Do you have the same card as me? What method did you use to install it? I'm using iPC with the Broadcom package. Thanks for your reply
  7. Hi, I can now no longer use the internet, apparently the is 'No Airport Card Detected' These are the relevant updates I think: 2009-03-02 10:52:21 +0000: Installed "Security Update 2009-001" (1.0) 2009-03-05 19:06:56 +0000: Installed "AirPort Utility Software Update 2009-001" (5.4.1) 2009-03-05 19:06:58 +0000: Installed "AirPort Client Update 2009-001" (1.0) I have tried reinstalling the 'Broadcom' package that I used last time (from iPC 10.5.6) but it didn't work this time. I also tried running the Broadcom enabler script but this didn't work either... Any help? Thanks
  8. Boot-132 on a Vostro 1510

Hi, I have just finished installing everything... apart from minor things (usb must be inserted at startup, a fix would be nice) I am ready for boot 132. I have installed using Kalyway 10.5.2 as I find it the most reliable, now, should I update to 10.5.6 before going retail or not? I just need advice on where I should go next... Thanks
  9. Obviously 1GB is better than 512MB and GDDR3 is better than GDDR2, but which of the above is better?? I will be using it for a OSX86 and Windows dual boot so it doesn't need to be fully osx86 compatible... I don't really need much graphics use on Leopard, just gaming in Windows... Which would you rather for gaming... On a 46" TV?? The two I was looking at were: 1024MB GDDR2 and 512MB GDDR3 Just after your opinion THANKS
  10. Hi, I am going to buy a graphics card soon and I was wondering what you guys thought. It needs to be PCI, have at least HDMI out and be fully OSX compatible with or without patches. ... It is going to be used with a 40" TV so it needs good resolutions. I will be putting it in my old Dell Dimension 9100 with 4GB RAM. I dont have any preference between ATI or Nvidia, but I am thinking around £50 and 512MB. Maybe used for the odd game or two... if any it will be fifa 09 or command and conquer... Any help would be appreciated
  11. Hi, what are the chances that we'll get a close to perfect install here? I am thinking about getting a Studio 17, but I will definately need sound, bluetooth and WiFi. I know we can swap the WiFi cards out, but I would prefer not to do this on a new laptop!! Thanks
  12. I am looking to buy a new laptop for OSX86 with a budget of around £750 inc VAT, but I was not sure whether to wait to see what they put inside the new MBPs on the 14th October. I'm not sure whether to stay safe and go for a Dell outlet XPS M1530 and use a USB Sound card and ethernet or whether to wait and see what they put in their new machines. What do you recommend? What sort of speeds will the new MacBook Pros be? I was thinking about a 2.5GHz M1530. Also, how long do you think a M1530 2.5GHz and 256mb Nvidia 8600m gt will be able to run photoshop for? Upto around CS6 I was hoping!! Also, how long will it be able to play the latest games for.... probably not so long!! Thanks

Cool, please can you post if this worked for you or not?? Also, what else doesn't work... Does the ethernet?? http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=83039 this shows you how to get your sound working... and anything else... the only problems I can see are internal mic, ethernet (will use usb to ethernet adapter).... Thanks
  15. Will this work without flaws?

'I bought a Dell Wireless TrueMobile 1505 Draft N mini PCI-E card that works out of the box as an Airport.' This is what Macgirls M1530 thread says... Can anybody clear this up?? On the HCL it says that the 1505 works on the M1330....... Anybody else??
