linuxholgi
Hi, sorry for my stupid question. How can I mount windows shares permanent? I have to use the finder everytime to reconnect them. Annoying! --Holger Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/15359-how-to-mount-windows-shares-permanent/ Share on other sites
psp_gamer
Yea, I was wondering that too. The first time I booted into osx, my windows drive showed up. Now it's gone without a trace. Please, help us... --> lol, j/p Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/15359-how-to-mount-windows-shares-permanent/#findComment-98460 Share on other sites

sparkac
make a directory in /Volumes that should be the name of the share displayed in finder enter in vi /etc/fstab as root into the terminal that'll create an fstab file for your editing pleasure use smbfs as the fstype and yes Darwin will read the fstab file at boot ps: use ntfs as the fstype to mount a windows partition (ntfs) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/15359-how-to-mount-windows-shares-permanent/#findComment-99505 Share on other sites
Pnutster
Perhaps a more easy way... Once you have the Windows shares mounted on your desktop, open up System Preferences > Accounts > Login Items and drag the Windows share from your desktop into the Login Items. Next restart your Windows Shares will mount. LanWolf
I use an automator script for it. 1:) "get specified servers", put in an smb adress (like "smb://10.0.0.100/mp3/" ) 2: "connect to servers" Save as a programm and run it at login... This was some way a dutch Tweakers.Net meber told me how to.
