isaaclau
Seems to me that the DVD install method is much much better than DD method + 0.4 patch..dont know why.... nothing hang..even MSN 5 work very good...NO HANG, CRASH Worked APP Toaster Marcomedia Studio 2004 MX Office 2004 (w/o service pack) Firefox, MAC OSX PPC Version OPERA...everything TIPS:============================ I dont know whether this is tip, anyway, I use the normal installation method, bypassing the option to enable SSE2 hack or SSE3 patch...then everything works fine.... Why? Any different to the DD method + 0.4 Patch? Dell - $1459 Apple - $1249 No one has has yet figured out how to get integrated wifi working yet or an ACTUALLY easy way to us more then 6Gb of HD space. So why not get the real thing? So why not get the real thing? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, I got my whole partition recognized (10gb) And those of the 700m owners that have the dell wireless, yes that is supported (I unfortunately have the Intel wireless) Ethernet port does work though, but that's not the fun Go for the 700m all the way, I wouldn't trade mine for anything... hatoncat
I think the big advantage is the ability to boot into Windows on the road whenever you need to... I'd happily pay the difference between iBook and Dell and will happily pay full price for the first Apple laptop that does this too. I think it's not a bad deal, and I do need WinXP so I can't go for iBook. thrunner
are you getting low cpu usage. im going nuts here, vlc takes 70 % usage. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Itunes MP3 takes about 15% CPU usage. Built in wireless for the Intel does not have OSX driver, older Dell Wireless is supposed to be supported. (There are some older Dell 700M with the Dell wireless chipset?). jcruzlara
You guys should send me a dvd with osx in it. I don't have a dvd burner and since I have a laptop I will need an externel wich cost more. The cheapest one I've found was 100bucks. I'm willing to pay something but not too much since I'm not really a rich person. thrunner
Re: Developer DVD install- not sure but it might run unchanged on the 700M because the 700M is almost all Intel hardware-but why not download the patch release1 and patch it, it installs better. Re: send you a DVD. P/M me, if you are in the USA, I will send you USPS mail. But you do realize that you need a SSE2 or better laptop to install. SSE will not work. Download CPUZ and find out.
