nyjets12
Ok, thanks to all who responded to my request for suggestions for motherboards! I settled on the Asus P5LD2-VM Can someone with the same motherboard point me to the best iso to burn to DVD to install. I see so many mentioned (Myzar, Maxxuss, etc) I am probably going to use a Intel Celeron D (351) if this will matter, it has SSE3 I appreciate any help so I can get this right. Thanks! joskus
Okay, once again.... The upgrade to 10.4.5 breaks Asus P5LD2-VM's audio - how do you fix it? I'll keep searching the forums.... nyjets12
Go with Myzar! And get his 10.4.6 update package as well! Ok, thanks.. but from all the reading in this forum, I thought it was for AMD processors? What is the name to search for for Myzar's iso? Thanks! nyjets12
Found it - P5ld2-vm audio fix. But it looks like the guy who got sound to work was in 10.4.3 ??? Step one he installs 10.4.3 f1111 (or whatever it is ) I can't see starting with 10.4.3.. I would prefer to start with the best dist of 10.4.5 that will work with the mobo I am guessing Myzar's?? Any other opinions? Thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/14875-buying-asus-p5ld2-vm/#findComment-96058 Share on other sites
kernalzero
I've been running 10.4.5 without any problems for a couple weeks now on that board. I have heard there are some problems with the GMA950 onboard and 10.4.6 so I would not be surprised if you ran into that when installing 10.4.6. That was encountered while updating though so doing a clean native install might avoid it? I haven't put 10.4.6 on there yet so I can't say first hand though. Sound is easy to fix on 10.4.5 (with the exception of the line in which has never worked due to drivers). joskus
I've got that ASUS board and never had any problem with onboard video/nic/usb etc - just that sound problem. And with the 10.4.5 disks it will still boot w/ HD audio enabled in bios, just won't find anything. The one updated kext fixes it all.
