First off, please don't start flaming me for asking for help. I have read pages of posts for days looking for the answer. SO, my problem is that I have a giga-byte x1600 pro installed (256mb/PCI-E), edited the plist with the correct ID, repaired permissions, rebooted, and the kext loads. However, I have no QE or CI support. Just wondering if anyone else had this problem and figured it out. I am thinking that there is another .kext that needs edited somewhere to "Turn on" QE and CI.

Thanks!

I finally got it working. After numerous attempts to make it work (and reinstalls!) I managed to get QE and CI supported. I edited my X1600.kext and added my device id, then edited the X1600GA.plugin with my device ID. Rebooted and still no QE or CI (but the kext did load). Deleted all ATI files from the extensions folder except the X1000 specific ones and the ATINDRV file. Repair permissions, reboot, and viola! QE and CI are supported! Unfortunately, I am now getting mouse artifacts, but otherwise I'm a happy camper. One thing of interest is that 10.4.5 and 10.4.6 have an extra ATI folder in extensions that 10.4.4 does not have.

i've QE and CI supported wiv my ati x1600xt, from the beginning, without editing any kexts...at least this is what my mac info says...
