sam_the_killer
Hi, To Everyone out there GREAT JOB!!!!! I just want to know that whether or not BootCamp can be altered in such a way that it can be used on generic PC's to boot Windows XP . Since it provides a better and a tested way of installing Windows XP on a single Hard Drive. Thanx Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/14781-is-boot-camp-from-apple-hackable/ Share on other sites
Elv13
I dont know if i am right but i think that bootcamp is higly related to EFI, not bios for EFI emulation we need a layer under bootcamp, between bios and bootcamp, i dont think its a good idea Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/14781-is-boot-camp-from-apple-hackable/#findComment-94825 Share on other sites

sigxcpu
why do you need a third party product to install a legacy OS on a legacy computer, a proven in stable method. also, for dual booting, you just put chain0 in boot.ini and you're done Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/14781-is-boot-camp-from-apple-hackable/#findComment-94919 Share on other sites
EricJD
also, for dual booting, you just put chain0 in boot.ini and you're done I use Acronis OS Selector. Works perfectly, and looks nice! Well, I do advise try "rEFIt" – it gives such things possible. "rEFIt is a boot menu and maintenance toolkit for EFI-based machines like the Intel Macs. It gives you easy access to the EFI environment and serves as a hook for pre-boot applications." Here it goes: http://refit.sourceforge.net/ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/14781-is-boot-camp-from-apple-hackable/#findComment-95187 Share on other sites
