Hi

I need help!

I recently did a successful install of Iatkos5i, and updated to 10.5.6. I thought everything was working properly so I installed Logic 8, all of the 3d party plugins, and the authorizations for the plugins. (a lot of work!)

My problem:

I use a program called "Missing Sync" to synchronize to my Treo phone. Since I have a new motherboard in my machine, I needed to reauthorize the app. The company's auth scheme uses a authorization code based on the mac address, and other identifying strings from the smbios file. Well, the authorizer won't work on my Iatkos5i installation, but WILL work on another installation of Kalyway 10.5.4 on another hard drive. I suspect that the difference is in the name of the computer that shows up in system profiler. In the 10.5.4 installation, the computer name is "Mac Pro", but in the new iatkos installation using SMBIOS-EFI, the computer name is "Mac"

My question: How can I edit the DSDT file to rename my Mac to "Mac Pro"?

Thanks

Pandar

Since your using a DSDT already you must have a boot file that supports it already installed try using the chameleonsm copied to the /boot file in your / partition replacing it then in your com.apple.Boot.plist use the example settings I have attached as a template for the information you want displayed/used. You will want to change the external, maximal and mem speeds to match yours before using it.

Edit: I should add that you need to remove/rename the EFI emulator you are using at the moment and then boot using the -f switch at the Darwin boot loader to force the reloading/caching of all the .kext on the system this after having removed the Caches and Extensions.mkext before the reboot.

com.apple.Boot.plist_macpro.zip

Chameleonsm.zip

QUESTION:

the file "chameleonsm" must be copiet in to the root of my boot hard disk, i should delete the "boot" file? (is the pcefiv9 boot)

????

You can delete if you want but a command like cp /path/to/chameleonsm /Volumes/Your_Install_Partitions_Name/boot as root user will simply overwrite the file then it will be used in the old boot's place on the next reboot/boot of the system.

Yah will be copied as name "root" i want to rename the other one to oldroot :(

i will try this in my asus p5w dh deluxe but im afraid that i must register again some my AU plugins...

i had a problem with one authorization failed on my smbios resolver +retail install, working all fine in my real macbook pro!
