Hi,

I've been playing with my dell's stac9227 codec and finally have all I need working:

- mic (front)

- line in (rear)

- speaker (green rear)

- headphones (front)

- line out (rear)

I couldn't get HP/Speaker auto-select working (so if you have both HP and speaker plugged in - both will work)

Adding PSDIF shoud be really easy (if you have SPDIF, I don't :D

Just unpcak attached files and put them in /System/Library/Extensions directory...

Have fun...

Are these legacy kexts so we can use load them with boot-132? if these are just regular kexts i dont see the advantage to using them over the e520 stac9227 kexts that work fine with all those things u listed...you do realize that there were already working kexts dont u?

EDIT: Well, i tried for myself and these kexts save me 1mb on my hard drive, but dont do anything that the other kexts dont...Good to see someone is trying though, it would be great if u made a legacy kext...

well... I've tried a few stac9227 kexts (including those that claimed to be dell e520 "specific") but none worked (I only had line out and hp). these above have hp/line out plus mic/line in (including input volume control)...

I'm not saying they are the only hda kexts for stac9227... I'm just saying they work for me ;-)

I haven't tried them with boot-132. I'll try it today (btw - they aare 10.4.x based, not the "new" 10.5.2)

Ok, well I tried them and it works but not with boot132. I think since clearly you know what your doing with kexts, that u should make a set of stac9227 legacy kexts, that would be perfect

Ok so i tried this and i got errors upon reboot saying they were not installed properly. I have a DELL E520 with the STAC 92xx series. Should i remove previous ones? how do i do this to get it working?

thanks!

EDIT!: So i got it to work. Thank you so much man!

How'd you get the system profiler to display info? I've had sound on the e520 with HDAEnabler since shortly after it came out, but never had profiler info. Admittedly, I haven't researched this yet, I just thought maybe you'd have a quick answer.

Thanks man!!! I've been looking for one that will work for my XPS410 and this one did it!!! Audio Patcher did not work for me. I added Audigy2 but AVID could not initialize Audio Device and it aborts. Glad to say with this one it works. Thanks a lot man!!!

I'm trying to get the audio on my intel board working. I've used Kext Helper b7 to install AppleHDA.kext & HDAEnabler.kext (from STAC9227.v3) and it seems to install fine. I reboot -F but I get no audio. In the system profiler, I see the device as follows:

Intel High Definition Audio:

Device ID: 0x80862111

Audio ID: 2

Available Devices:

I'm not sure what i've done wrong...
