  1. Change Of Cpu On A Power G5

You're a lucky owner of Dual PowerPC processor Mac ;-) And you'll need to stick to PowerPC (Intel won't work...) Anyway - your setup isn't that bad (I wish I have something like this ;-)). Have fun with your Mac!
  2. That was so huge disappointment! Focusing on "not-so-revolutionary" software and not "famous apple" hardware was really something that I did not expect... I was waiting for mac mini or iMac news! That's _Mac_World for ... sake! And 17'' MBP... well... If I could afford one I'd probably be interested. Overall - very poor experience...
  3. Any STAC9227 fully working?

try this (no patching required, put these kexts in /S/L/E and repair perms) http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=143021
  4. dell e520 stac9227 sound - working

well... I've tried a few stac9227 kexts (including those that claimed to be dell e520 "specific") but none worked (I only had line out and hp). these above have hp/line out plus mic/line in (including input volume control)... I'm not saying they are the only hda kexts for stac9227... I'm just saying they work for me ;-) I haven't tried them with boot-132. I'll try it today (btw - they aare 10.4.x based, not the "new" 10.5.2)
  5. dell e520 stac9227 sound - working

Hi, I've been playing with my dell's stac9227 codec and finally have all I need working: - mic (front) - line in (rear) - speaker (green rear) - headphones (front) - line out (rear) I couldn't get HP/Speaker auto-select working (so if you have both HP and speaker plugged in - both will work) Adding PSDIF shoud be really easy (if you have SPDIF, I don't Just unpcak attached files and put them in /System/Library/Extensions directory... Have fun... stac9227.tar.gz
  6. [HOW TO] Patch AppleHDA - Knowledge Base

Help please... I've been working on that for hours now but still - no sound... I have STAC9227 (dell e520) - I've followed the guide, I have internal mic, speakers, line out and line in - all in device list (about this mac) but in "System preferences -> sound" - no input or output devices displayed (and no sound)... Here's what dmesg gives: Sound assertion "0 != result" failed in "/SourceCache/AppleHDA/AppleHDA-157.1.24/AppleHDA/AppleHDAWidgetSTAC9220.cpp" at line 83 goto Exit Sound assertion "0 != result" failed in "/SourceCache/AppleHDA/AppleHDA-157.1.24/AppleHDA/AppleHDAFunctionGroup.cpp" at line 114 goto Exit Sound assertion "0 != result" failed in "/SourceCache/AppleHDA/AppleHDA-157.1.24/AppleHDA/AppleHDAFunctionGroupSTAC9220.cpp" at line 55 goto Exit Sound assertion "0 != err" failed in "/SourceCache/AppleHDA/AppleHDA-157.1.24/AppleHDA/AppleHDACodecGeneric.cpp" at line 154 goto ExitError Do you have any idea why I have devices discovered but no input or output devices in system preferences???
  7. [HOW TO] Pin Config!

well.. I can't! there's no "Device Class GUID" in device properties, and I've searched whole registry for PinConfigOverrideVerbs - not there at all... So - anyone with dell d520 and Vista...? Thanks,
  8. [HOW TO] Pin Config!

Can someone post this for Dell E520 (I just don't have Vista installed)...? Thx,
  9. 10.5.6 Released!

ok - after 2 attempts and reinstall I'm desperate to ask for help... I have dell e520 (in raid mode), 10.5.5, i've installed chameleon with pciefiv9, did dsdt patching. 10.5.5 rebooted fine, AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext loaded. All extensions in /Extra/Extensions.mkext (including 10.5.5 AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext). Applied combo update with no issues but... "still waiting for root device" after reload... disabled raid in bios - no help. used boot-132 disk (that worked with 10.5.5) - no luck... any idea what happaned and how to fix it...?
  10. dell e520 STAC9227 - help...

Hello, I've been trying to make sound work on my dell e520 for last 2 days but still no success... I tried a several different kexts and appleHDAPatcher v1.6 and v1.2, several tutorials but still - no sound... Can anyone have a look at my current AppleHDA.kext, ALCinject.kext and codec dump - perhaps I'm missing something... These kexts are loaded from boot-132 partition (the method works fine - I'm loading nvinject, raid and airport kexts from boot132. The only thing that doesn't work is sound...). Please help... I'm stuck and can't really work it out... Thanks, kexts.dell.gz e520codec.dump.txt
  11. Atheros AR2413 and boot132

Hello, I have Dell e520 with TP-Link wireless card: Ethernet controller [0200]: Atheros Communications Inc. AR2413 802.11bg NIC [168c:001a] (rev 01) Subsystem: Atheros Communications Inc. TP-Link TL-WN510G Wireless CardBus Adapter [168c:1052] running retail 10.5.4. I've been reading through all these Atheros topics and finally found out that there's no other way (I think...) than using 10.4.5 IO80211Family.kext. As I don't want to modify the system I was wondering if this can be achieved via boot132 disk? Can anyone give me some instructions how to do that (ie. load 10.4.5 kexts from boot132 disk extensions)? I've tried placing modified 10.4.5 IO80211Family.kext on boot132 disk but no luck.. If I replace original 10.5.4 IO80211Family.kext with 10.4.5 IO80211Family.kext it all works fine (ie. wireless works fine) but what I actually want is "untouched" 10.5.4 on the hdd and IO80211Family.kext drivers loaded from boot132 disk.. Any hints? regards, Adam
  12. Hi, I'm trying to follow the guide (I just want to modify retail dvd so that I can install on MBR partition, don't need single layer stuff or "built-in" bootloader). I think I'm doing all required steps but I can't boot the resulting "modified" dvd! I have a custom boot cd (for dell e520), it boots fine, I then replace the dvd with the "modified" one but it goes back to original bootloader and never boots... When I do this with original retail dvd it is booting though (but I can't install to MBR disk)... Do you have any idea what I may be doing wrong? I'm using 10.5.4 retail dvd... And to be precise: I'm doing steps A, B, C, E (instead of copy I'm using Toast to burn the image created in C). thx,

where do I get e520.iso... (or all kexts required for e520)? Thx
