flibblesan
It's possible that NVidia will either approach AMD with this, or partner up with VIA. Personally, I think they have more chance going to VIA as I don't believe AMD have any low-power chips. vbetts
They have the geode family, but the geode is no where near close enough as fast as the atom. iNoob
The AMD Geode is way too slow, the latest ones still based on the Athlon processor architecture. I remember seeing in a local supermarket in my city an AMD Geode 7" screen laptop computer. It had 512 MB of DDR RAM and a 500 MHz processor. Running Ubuntu. Completely senseless, given that Ubuntu is really heavy. But the VIA Nano's a good processor, being faster than the Atom in some cases. vbetts
From what I've seen of the nano, it completely runs over the Atom. The only advantage to the atom really being, besides that it's released, the atom doesn't use as much power as the nano does. But the Nano still draws little power.
