On April 5, 2006, Apple announced support of running Windows XP on an Intel Mac PC. In case you haven't found out, you can now boot MAC OS X and Windows XP on an Intel Mac using a piece of software called Boot Camp. Now that the Intel Macs support Windows, its time for them to provide support for running MAC OS X on the PC. Think so too? Sign the petition at http://macpcs.blogspot.com/. The more signatures we collect, the bigger the impact we could make on Apple.

Do you really think a petition will change something?

You and others that make postings like this obviously don't understand Apples business model. They are primarily a hardware company, although they also have the best Software. To have OS X be what it is Apple has to control the hardware, that's why it just works. All they have to do is make sure that everything works very well (drivers) for their lineup of macs and customers are happy. If OS X gets put on whatever hardware someone finds from how ever many different companies mixed together in any number of combinations there goes it just works. Apple controls the whole process and thats what makes them so good. Microsoft on the other hand is primarily a Software company. The only hardware they really sell are some keyboards, mice and some other things that I can't think of right now, but not the computer box.

If Apple let OS X get out on all that hardware people may not be as happy with the total user experience which would be bad for Mac.

According to Cringely, who knows about these things a lot more than all of us put together, OSX will be coming to PC/Windows users:

I predict that Apple will settle on 64-bit Intel processors ASAP (with FireWire 800 please), and at that time will announce a product similar to Boot Camp to allow OS X to run on bog-standard 32-bit PC hardware, turning the Boot Camp relationship on its head and trying to sell $99 copies of OS X to 100 million or so Windows owners.

Cringley is even more ignorant about Apple than Dvorak. The only time either of them get a prediction right lately it can usually be chalked up to dumb luck.

There is a little thing call the Xbox, Xbox360 and the up coming Origami. Xbox360 will sell about 11 million by 2007, which is about 5 to 8 times more than projected Apple Macs.
