UnaClocker Posted December 21, 2008 Share Posted December 21, 2008 I do, as seen in my sig, Abit IP35-E, GeForce 7300LE working with EFI strings, had to use a different ethernet card, as the one on the motherboard has been flakey at best in all OSX distros. Only complaint is, like all the other distro's I've tried, it still doesn't sleep. IATKOS 5i is also missing the AirportUtility.app and the Directory.app. I wonder if those were removed for slimming down the image? haha It´s been tampered with so that the default values or settings are not reset to default.. foldersizes and app iconsizes, the terminal etc. Not sure why that is, when in other releases it´s all set to original default values. Not hard to change at all, but annoying. Anyway! I updated to 10.5.6 like a real mac, and it worked as expected. Some minor issues.. OHR does not seem to work for shutdown after the 10.5.6 update.. it just restarts the machine.. adding a EFI-string for the graphicscard to the bootlist slows down the bootprocess.. when i´m moving the mouse, the spinningwheel on the bootscreen moves in correct speed, but if i don´t move it it is very slow.. the boot to desktop takes forever.. not sure how to fix this. iATKOS 5i is easy to setup, and install is quick, but i wish it was reset, and had more drivers and languages, and no missing apps. iATKOS 5i could be much nicer and better. I get 155-160 in XBench 1.3 score. Not sure if any other release is better or worse. I used use Kalyway 10.5.2-10.5.4 before. I think iATKOS 5 i was the first release that was upgradable, but it still needs lots of work. It used to take a long time for the GUI to initialize during the boot process, it comes up very fast now. Really shortened my boot time. Core24All Posted December 23, 2008 Share Posted December 23, 2008 I installed iATKOS 5i with the OHR from Psystar, but after the 10.5.6 update, it does not shutdown my comp. I have tried installing with kexthelper too. No change so far. I found the problem. I had to manually extract the openhaltrestart.kext from psystars 1.0.3 kext, and then install that one. I then had to clean the kextcache. Sometimes the solution is so simple it´s embarrasing.. Now it all works fine as it should.
