user555 Posted December 20, 2008 Share Posted December 20, 2008 so i got voodoo 9 and what not and kalyway 10.5.2 and i felt man enough to try and update the update when well and i even did the dts patch or whatever its called to get it to go to 10.5.6 and well now i got it to restart now its hanging on some error message about Warning: Skipping Personalities in Blacklisted kext com.apple.Dont_Steal_Mac_OS_X then it freezes there... anyone have any ideas how i can edit this file in single user mode? ive read previous articles on this and well was i suppose to edit this file before i was ever suppose to update??? any ideas please help. dparada78 Posted December 20, 2008 Share Posted December 20, 2008 You might not even need to patch dsdt. Try deleting the dont steal mac osx.kext in -s mode. i run 10.5.6 just fine without it. bhst2 Posted December 20, 2008 Share Posted December 20, 2008 put the RC voodoo kernel in / and than reboot so download the RC kernel from their site if you need it let me know rename it to mach_kernel.rc (or something like like) boot with the flag mach_kernel.rc and it will sync up and allow you to boot up than you can go back to the released version of the kernel Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
