MaaseyRacer
You might want to post what you have and or what you do not have. Or is that $450 your budget for everything (including case and power supply). Wman
There is a guide to make a 250$ mac in the genius bar (guides). Just search "perfect mac for 200/ 250$". It is not very powerful (it runs on atom), but I nice build, IMHO, and you can spend the other 200$ on a used (easel style) 20" apple monitor, and it looks genuine. But, if you want more power I would recommend doing a more expensive build with a gigabyte board, otherwise I think there are m-atx builds that use core 2 duo, but I don't know about them... BebopBlues
Most of the gigabyte boards work well and aren't pricey. I have a GIGABYTE GA-G33M-DS2R that works well with the Q6600, look at my signature. Although going with such processor will mostly likely push you over $450, more like $550-$600.
