After revisiting this issue after the 10.5.6 combo upgrade. I should change my vote to: ALL working fine - QE/CI - res change - no artifacts

Procedure:

I used osx86tools to backup my extensions, installed the JAS support package on my working 10.5.6 (mswindosx86) installation, used osx86tools again to clear the hardware cache, reboot and set resolution.

 

So far, no artifacts.

I'm using the same configuration as Anunnaki-777 but I'm getting artifacts when I move the mouse over text boxes. This is due to incompatibility between the old integrated framebuffer kext and the newer GMA950 kext.

The only way to fix it is if some talented hacker around here made a kext to force the newer fb to load (because it crashes, and breaks resolution change). I have tried every possible EFI string and every modification of NATIT.kext with no luck.

Mine does everything fine until i start doing something that loads the system pretty heavy then i get some artifacts, or when i try to rename a file it will do it

Might be the same as the one above, but worked for me. QE/CI, res sw, no artifactsl, sleep mode works.

i ended up using the dr. hurt method of making it work with using the DSDT, works perfect now but have a GF6200 coming so i can try to get away from the GMA950, to slow

Yes, DSDT patching does the trick. Everything else is vanilla.

 

I have a GMA 950 with Device ID 0x2772 and it fully works without any problems now.
