  1. [HowTo] Install Mac OS X Lion (FRESH!)

I'm getting the same error messages as crazyJAT. I'm sorry to say it, but this how-to does not work as it is. There are some important points missing in this manual. People are better off using other manuals.
  2. Hey guys, I was able to get my ALC888 working on Lion by having a working DSDT and only editing AppleHDA. It works fine! I edited the original AppleHDA (2.1.1f11 – that came with Lion) by binary patching it and adding layout888.xml and Platforms.xml. LegacyHDA was not needed. Don't forget to repair permissions and delete the cache afterwards.
  3. Hey thanks man! Your modded bootloader works great with my Sapphire Radeon HD 4670 Ultimate!
  4. ALC883 help

I suggest you try VoodooHDA. It isn't perfect yet, but works fine for my ALC883.
  5. Modified Chess (for Mac OS X 10.5.6)

    Thanks for the rar archive.
  6. [HOW TO] Patch AppleHDA - Knowledge Base

I have a question about the DSDT fix: Do you still need any extra / modified kexts or do you need none at all if you do it right? Thanks.
  7. AppleHDA Solution - Work in progress

Here is an audio codec dump for the Asus P5GZ-MX. It's working great! Have fun! alc883_p5gz_mx.txt
  8. What happens if you don't edit the DSDT.dsl file? I guess it still gives you that warnings. Try updating the BIOS if you haven't already. Maybe that fixes it. And don't forget to use the unmodified video driver kexts. If that doesn't help, you could also try to use my baked DSDT.aml in the previous post (#320). Maybe it also works for you. Good luck
  9. LEOPARD users with desktop integrated GMA950 DevID 0x2772

Yes, DSDT patching does the trick. Everything else is vanilla. I have a GMA 950 with Device ID 0x2772 and it fully works without any problems now.
  10. Thank you so much for this solution. I've patched the DSDT and everything works now. Even Quake 3! So here is the ready-to-go file for GMA950 on Asus P5GZ-MX. DSDT.aml.zip
  11. AnV XNU Kernel V1.4

Thanks for your reply! If I download an archive, I do not want to ... - search for StuffIt on Google - find the free product on the website - enter my e-mail address - log in to my e-mail account - open the e-mail and find the link - realize that downloading the software will automatically sign me up to periodic follow up emails - click the download link and some more clicking on the website - wait three minutes for the download to finish - install the software, agree to the license and enter my user password - and finally extract the archive When I could just ... - download the ZIP archive, which Safari automatically extracts I'm sure I'm not the only one that doesn't have StuffIt. Or at least use something not proprietary like RAR or 7Zip. Why make it more complex when it could be so easy? As for the file hosting: There are tons of free hosters out there, like http://www.rapidshare.com http://www.megaupload.com/ etc. And if everything else fails, just tell me and I will give you an FTP account to my website. Thanks!
  12. AnV XNU Kernel V1.4

Andy, please use something more common that sitx. And please upload it to a host where you don't have to split the files. This would make life easier. Thanks.

Does Quartz Extreme really work? Can somebody confirm this please?
  14. BrazilMac Patch Problems

There are many: XxX, iDeneb, iAtkos, etc... but they are basically all the same. Just make sure it supports your hardware, like AMD CPU, SSE2, whatever. Just look in the new releases and updates forum: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showforum=157 One more thing: I think when using the Voodoo Kernel you don't need to patch the binaries, because it has a built-in SSE3 emulator.
  15. BrazilMac Patch Problems

What patch did you install? I don't understand this. You need at least dsmos.kext or AppleDecrypt for a non-Apple PC. And if you have an SSE2 only CPU, then you have to patch some binaries (there are patchers around) and maybe you also need a different kernel like the Voodoo Kernel. I think it's easier if you just use a ready made DVD.
