Slook
I would like to install Mac OS X 10.5 on one of my computers, the computer I'd like to install it on has these specs: PCChips/Biostar Goal3+ AMD Sempron 3000+ 1.8GHz, 800MHz FSB - Socket 754 SIS 761GX/965L Chipset 512MB DDR400 RAM 80GB IDE HDD Currently running Xubuntu Is there and OS X version that you guys think would work on this setup? It does have a PCI-Express Slot so if I need to get a card for it I can. I don't want to install OS X on my Phenom as it has the SB700 Southbridge and 780G Northbridge that currently none of the OS X Versions support (to the best of my knowledge). So if you could let me know if this is possible, that'd be great. Gujal
Yeah, for that hardware, I think you can run gOS 3.0 gadgets which looks and feels like OSX but is actually linux Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/139241-os-x-sis-which-dvd/#findComment-986020 Share on other sites
Slook
Ok, how can I make a cheap cheap cheap OS X computer, as in if you go to NewEgg.com and pick out the mobo and cpu what's going to be the cheapest for those two items just to run OS X and have it run well considering the DVD Images out there. EDIT: I already have RAM DDR2 or DDR and a HDD for it so yeah. Gujal
Foxconn 45GMX LGA 775 Intel 945G Micro ATX Intel Motherboard $40 Intel Celeron 430 Conroe-L 1.8GHz 512KB L2 Cache LGA 775 35W $40 Has built in GMA950, the OSX driver may have minor artefacts but is not a major. You can always get a PCI-Express card if needed later. Ethernet is Realtek8111 and will work out of the box. Audio is ALC662, drivers are available iDeneb v1.3 should be easy to run and install on this combination. windshadow
This is very similiar to my setup, the only version i ever got to get as far as install is iDeneb 1.3 osX 10.5.5. to get the sound to work i extracted the AC97_sis pkg from the iDeneb 1.5 and installed it. the onboard ethernet doesn't work. i am currently using a realtec ethernet adaptor. The graphics work and i needed to use the amd patch as well as the 9.2.2 sse3 kernal. my configuration is: pc chips goal 3+ motherboard AMD Sempron 3000+ SiS761GX/SiS965L 2Gig RAM 20 GigEIDE hard drive sata dvd rw Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/139241-os-x-sis-which-dvd/#findComment-1278529 Share on other sites
