Wrenbird
I was wondering if any owners of the new Macbook are having heat problems? I read about some heat problems, but I got to use one today and it literally ran room temperature. Synaesthesia
Here is a discussion: http://episteme.arstechnica.com/eve/forums.../m/158007805931 Here is some user reports :http://www.macintouch.com/readerreports/macbookaluminum/index.html No real heat issues yet. I think the heat issues were with previous generations of Macbooks, which did run very hot. However since the Macbooks + MBP used the new Penryn CPU's from Intel they have run a lot cooler... .ShadowFox
I've been using the base aluminum Macbook since October '08. Never any heat problems per se. The only time it gets really hot is if I'm playing games on Windows. Like Half Life 2, Portal, TF2, Crysis. All that. In OS X, when I use Skype, or serious multitasking, it gets very hot too. http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/12381 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/138943-heat-issues-on-the-aluminum-macbook/#findComment-1067081 Share on other sites
omikjam
I have had a unibody macbook (2.0GHz) since november '08, it usually gets very hot. I have to turn the fan up to maximum to keep it from burning my legs when I have it in my lap. Whenever I do something CPU-intensive for a while, the laptop gets searing hot. Edit: oops, sorry about necro Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/138943-heat-issues-on-the-aluminum-macbook/#findComment-1142845 Share on other sites
