i have tried Kalaway, iATKOS, LawlessPpc, iDeneb and all do not work. i have AMD Turion x2 processor, NVidia GeForce 8200M graphics card and Atheros wireless. i have done a few things to get ready for the dual boot install.

started with XP installed. partitioned a 50gb FAT32 drive for this install. restarted my pc and partition was there. so i turned off the pc, booted back up with the OSX disk, (take a pic on the list above). now at this point, the laptop either restarted immediatly when i chose to install OSX at the darwin bootloader or installed a few files and then restarted. best i have got is 1/2 way loading the files, it just stopped. wouldnt go past loading some Kext.

am i missing a step anywhere? was i supposed to do something that i didnt? someone, PLEASE help me out here. i am about to try Leo4All and see what happens with that.

any help is MUCH appreciated. i am usually on aol instant messanger. tha5150

well, ALL distro's have the same, almost same issue. it starts to load the files and it will reboot. kalaway does the same.

what in the world could be going on here? i mean, there isnt even issues with the installation of OSX that i know of cause i cant even get to the disk utility or anything like that. only thing, as i have said, that i can do is try to load the files from the dvd in order to see the OSX install page. i havent even got a chance to format the FAT32 partition to HFS yet. i mean, this is really bugging me. EVERY, SINGLE, DISTRO has the same problem...

update:

someone on the chat forums on this site said for me to try "cpus=1 -x -v" and it didnt work either. they said i might be having an issue with my dual core processor or something. i dont know. either way i am about to give up on this whole thing. i mean seriously, i have done EVERYTHING possible and nothing.

if anyone has some knowledge on this, please help.

1st download Cpu-z

and check to see if your processor supports SSE,SSE2 or SSE3

then i think you need to go into your BIOS settings and

see if some off your CPU settings are preventing this

you'll have to try various settings,

OS install mode

Hyper Threading

Compatibility

etc

just try them all

and boot every time after a try

and lastly i think you should give Zephyroth Distro a Try

i think he has a revision of 10.5.2 if you make it, which u'll be glad to have. u can upgrade

Cuz i think its mainly a processing problem (So Sure)

could either be AMD or BIOS settings or 64Bit (not so sure)

I've had the same problems, I also have the Hp g60-123cl. All i get is the first few lines of the loading to come and it hangs there or if i try to start it with a -x for safe mode it loads some of the framework (guessing that's what it is doing) and then restarts. Going to try messing with some of the bios, I'll let you know if I get anything to work.

Nothing I have tried has worked, everything does the same thing as tha5150 stated before. Does anyone have any solutions?

HP G60 Specs

2.0 GHz AMD Turion X2 RM-70 Dual-Core

3 Gb RAM

NVIDIA GeForce 8200M

320 GB Western Digital Hard Drive

I have not gotten mine to work either, I have the same specs, except mine is an G60-125NR. I have gotten my HP DV6000 and my Dell 1520 and Dell D630 to load and operate a few different distros, but not my G60. It is a bit frustrating.

I also have an HP G60 w/ AMD Turion X2, exact same problems... I've tried ideneb, kalyway, a couple others...no luck. Any one figure this out yet?

Hey guys new here, also have a HP g60-125NR. Tried Kalyway, iatkos, and just finished downloading ideneb. Hoping this one works. All others seem to load Darwin then some file load on the screen and the comp continues to reboot. This contiues happeing unless i pull the dvd out or justg boot into windows. If i find any info ill post it here.

sorry to be the bearer of bad news.. not trying to be rude either.. but deal with it. i did. i ended up getting a mac. i really wished this would have worked for me and you guys.. it is the way it is.. sucks. good luck though.

Got it to work on G60-125nr with Ideneb 10.5.5 but had to use an external usb dvd drive. And usb keyboard and mouse so it would not restart at Darwin. Then install to a usb stick or usb drive. Can't get video kext's to work tried every nvidia kext I could think of but still nothing. System is running very slow not even worth using unless someone can figure something out.

Mac OSX 10.5.7

Only issue I have is no wireless..I have to have ethernet plugged in :)

Edit:

What model g60 do you have? Mine is a g60-120us and am in the same boat as everyone else in this thread. If you could explain how you got yours working it would be greatly appreciated.

Just saw from another one of your posts that you have a G60-458DX which is Intel model.

Has anyone been able to get osx working in vmware with these g60-1xx amd laptops?
