gonzo.damn
Hi, everyone... i want to buy an ATi Radeon 9550 AGP 256MB for my OSX 10.4.5 install, and i need to know somethings: 1.- Is it a good choice (since i don't have many money) to get my OS X fully working?? 2.- I know that editing the AtiRadeon9700.kext and adding the ID it would get QE and CI, but i want to know if with that i would get the water-like effect when putting a widget in the dashboard, or the Cube effect when switching users.. 3.- I would be able to watch DVD movies in DVD Player?? well...that's all i want to know, because i'm thinking of getting it this week.... THANKS!!! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/13793-what-about-a-radeon-9550/ Share on other sites

Ender Wiggin
1 - yes, if you don't have a PCIe slot 2 - yes, and I don't think you need to do any editing. mine worked perfect out of the box 3 - yes keep your fingers crossed for omni to get frame buffer to work so that we can also change screen res . and don't forget to thak him when he does (I don't doubt it for a second that he will). n3x
9550 does a good job for me. all animations in osx rocking. already mentionen, all ati users pray to god (omni) to shoot the mousetearing. it's cheap but not a good choice for advanced games.
