Hi guys,

First a little bit about my project:

My dad and I are currently working on making our own hackintosh build, a computer that, when finished, will go to my girlfriend who is an aspiring fashion designer.

Using an Antec P182 case with the gunmetal black finish, and in the process of adding a glowing logo mod to the side of it (see attached image). Currently not sure if I want to use an Apple logo or not, what do you guys think?

Current specs:

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3L (most enthusiastic entry in the wiki, seems like!)

PSU: Antec earthwatts EA500 500W 80 PLUS

Processor: Intel Quad Core Q8200 (currently 2.33ghz, OC opinions?)

RAM: Corsair DDR2 4GB (2x2GB)

Video: EVGA 9800GTX+

Storage: 500GB Seagate Barracuda

Install: Will be buying Mac OS X 10.5.4 retail, using boot-132 (although I need to do more research on that aspect) and kalyway 10.5.2

I was also hoping to hear some of your opinions on watercooling, something that we want to incorporate...any recommendations on hardware, and any techniques?

Also, what do you think of my current build? I've read stuff on the Q8200 not being so overclockable, but there are some mixed thoughts. I'd like to be able to get it up to at 3.0 Ghz.

Lastly, I'd like to thank everyone in these forums and InsanelyMac/OSx86 Project for making information freely available to anyone that wants to learn. I'll be updating this thread with my progress as I go!

Finally finished it! I'm now running retail Leopard 10.5.5, using the boot132 method.

Everything works perfectly, lan, audio, video (nvdarwin injector on an eVGA 9800 GTX+), shutdown, reboot, restart.

Also finished up the glowing logo mod, which you can see in the attached pictures. I used two bright white cold cathode tubes and stuck them inside the case. It came with a switch to place in the back of the case which works out nicely. Sandblasted the acrylic glass so that it's frosted. it glows more evenly now!

Picture quality kinda sucks, I had to use my mobile's camera. :P

Nice result , the glowing effect is great. Are you programming in Jave ? :D

Thanks! No -- I'm a web UI designer, so I only work with Javascript and PHP mostly. The new hackintosh is for my girlfriend, who loves coffee and is an aspiring fashion designer. It is similar to the Java logo though isn't it? :P
