Using this guide: Testing Grounds: OSX Leopard 10.5.5

Before I begin, I had a few questions:

What is OSx86?

What is iDeneb?

Thanks in advance, and now for some help!

Here are my computer specifications:

Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe nForce 570 series mother board

AMD X2 5000+ 2.6 gHz Processor

AC'97 Audio Controller

nVidia GeForce 7900 GS Video Card (only one, not SLI)

250 GB harddrive

That's it.

So I got a DVD that works from the internet, labelled iDeneb, and I got through most of the steps, except that when the actual installation finishes, and I try to boot up my computer, I get an error saying: boot0:error or something of the like. Right now i'm trying to attempt to customize properly again, hoping I get a succesful installation.

One thing to note, I have my HDD in 3 partitions: 200GB for WinXP, 25 GB unpartitioned space (burning an Ubuntu DVD as we speak :) ) and a 25 GB partition for OSX 10.5.5.

I want Windows XP to be my main boot solution, (but grub usually takes over so I don't care at the moment) but I forgot to edit the boot.ini and add OSX to my roster of Operating Systems. Is that related to the boot0:0 error in anyway?

Sorry in advance to moderators, and regulars alike, I am new to this forum, and am very thankful that such a community exists so that we may be able to use these operating systems so freely, but I may have posted this in the wrong place. If so, please re-direct me to the right location.

Thank you once more, in advance for any solutions!

Well, boot0 error means that Mac OSX can't run its bootloader. I couldn't fix it, but I'm sure that you can find something to fix the loader.

If you'll use vista, you can install EasyBCD. (I hope you won't use vista!) Probably there is a similar program for XP.

Ideneb is a modified version of Mac OSX, the better, I think. Full of drivers and programs.

OSX86 is the name of the project "moving Mac OS to X86 PCs".

Thanks for the quick response!

I'm just going to edit my boot.ini file for the primary windows installation, and (hopefully) see if I can get OSX to boot from the XP Boot Loader.

Thanks again, more tips will be appreciated!

Also, I got the same error when I tried installing it again, so that takes out Bad Installation from the list of troubleshooting!

Edit (3:38 pm): Hello everyone, as of today, I am a proud new owner of my first Apple "Hack"intosh Computer!!!

There are a few problems, but of course. Firstly, the view is a little contorted, I saved an image on my computer and will upload it shortly for all to see, but I think it is related to my second problem.

The second problem is that I don't think my drivers were detected. If I post a list of all my computer components, will I be able to get my internet, graphics card, and sound running on the Mac OS?

Thanks in advance everyone!

i you keep the install dvd in the drive, you should be able to get to a bootloader prompt. let this go uninterupted and it should boot into your desktop. then use the attached file to install a new bootloader that will fix it. make sure to set the mac partition as the boot volume.

and please post your specs. it will help greatly.

Chameleon.dmg.zip

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5000+ (2.6 gHz)

Nvidia GeForce 7900 GS 256 MB DDR2 Video Card

nVidia nForce Networking Controller (ethernet)

SoundMAX Integrated Digital HD Audio

iDeneb 10.5.5 Leopard

Video Drivers are not being detected, (chess lags, so does minimizing stuff into the dock) but I can still view the desktop

Sound Drivers aren't working either, using the 2 speaker driver (when everything else fails)

Ethernet not working

And that's it, for now. If you guys need any more information, let me know. Thanks in advance.
