marliwahoo
Well - it is a bit of a pain to get OSX running on a PC. I could have spent the hours and hours of time working on getting OSX to work doing something more productive. OSX is NOT perfect by any means. But is is better, in my opinion, than Windows. Please remember OSX on a PC is still a hack. It is not like running a fully supported version of mac OSX on a real Apple Macintosh. Is the hacked version of OSX better than windows ? Maybe - mabe not. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/13380-why-i-went-back-to-windows-xp/#findComment-85280 Share on other sites
quixos
its420, i'm appalled at your brevity. but hey, good last post! marliwahoo, i'm thinking it's all about the supported hardware. you either have it and enjoy yourself, or don't and are repelled. Veeoh, i'd say the blog is more low key than boring. Ritchie
I think even for a funny video, or anti-mac campaign (some people say) it reveals some weak spot of MACs... I've worked on real mac towers and it cracshed... writting a document or browsing to the net isn't what the machines are made for... neither Windows, Mac. Linux, Solaris or what ever other platform will crach doing those... And before you judge Windows and Microsoft, don't forget that if there were not microsoft we will be paying 2000 and 3000 dollars and not 600 dollars to by a PC... and for crying out loud, you compare Windows where are running in every hardware you can find with a platform that runs only on 5-6 specific hardware.... I my self I never gonna go to MAC or Windows or Linux, stand alone... I'm gonna use them all... what works better on which one of them... its420
by no means am i slamming macs i used them in high school 10 years ago and they worked great for graphics arts editing and OS X is beautiful i love the look just its still buggy and ill wait until it stable and 3d supprot has been added i think everyone is doing a wonderful job apple needs to let up on some stuff cause its us users that are going to make or break the bank on this and not listening to us on our demands for afast stable operating envirment is basically cutting its own throat not saying they should just give in to everything but if they are reading these forums then they need to get on the band wagon and lets get this thing rollin cause us AMD'ers are just as popular as the intel users video was for those of us that are frustrated from the lack of suppert or even acnoledment what little we have got from apple Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/13380-why-i-went-back-to-windows-xp/#findComment-86168 Share on other sites

declan
I have to say i loved dumping windows altogether, i know macs and windows have annoying features. I used windows since version 1, right upto xp, in the end i spent too much time customizing windows to look like a mac, i went out and bought a ibook, bliss, so much easier to maintain, not to be compared to a mactel. (Though cause i bought specific hardware for my mactel, it does work quite flawless, except those pesky updates) Its funny when he talks about closing apps down, puff there gone, on windows then have a habit of suddenly not working at all, so you remove, reinstall, no luck, figure out what you installed recently that might have caused the problem, well nothing cause yesterday it worked, i turned it off, today doh. Don't get me wrong windows has got better, but its all the legacy {censored} that holds it back. Though i still have a MCE box under the tv, MS got that right.
