romaincs
Hey ! I think that you will not have SSE3 Instruction notified on your System Profiler untill you have a real SSE3 processor. It's only an emulation. To see if they are emulated, simply launch a PPC application such as VLC and then see if it launches successfully. Then if it does, you have SSE3 emulated. :censored2: Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/13360-no-sse3-on-mac-os-x-1045/#findComment-85057 Share on other sites

stickman
I have a Pentium D 805, which has SSE3. In OSX I also have that string for SSE3 (SS), but it shouldn't bother you, since in Linux, I have all also SS instead of SSE3. Just take a look to the relevant lines of cat /proc/cpuinfo in my 2.6.16 kernel installation: flags : fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 apic sep mtrr pge mca cmov pat pse36 clflush dts acpi mmx fxsr sse sse2 ss ht tm pbe nx lm constant_tsc pni monitor ds_cpl tm2 cid cx16 xtpr lahf_lm Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/13360-no-sse3-on-mac-os-x-1045/#findComment-85454 Share on other sites
Colonel
i have an SSE3 Celeron D, but in the System Profiler in 10.4.5 it says I don't have SSE3 but 10.4.1 said I did. Is there any way I can make the system profiler say that I do have SSE3?
