Based on GA-945GCM-S2L

I edited stickpin's legacy kexts for working on my GA-945CGM-S2L so that I can use AppleHDA.kext 1.5.7a24 or AppleHDA.kext 1.6.2a37. Not patch AppleHDA.kext

You can install to (1) /Extra/Extensions folder, (2) /System/Library/Extensions folder, or (3) /Extra/Extensions.mkext.

legacy_662.zip

legacy_662_normal_fixed.zip Fixed one error of HDAEnabler.kext

All analog outputs are working. Digital Output works only 2ch and does not have Encoded Digital Audio. Mic Rear(pink) seem to work as Line In. Line In(blue) is working fine. no "Mute." & "Forget about Front Mic" for now.

If legacy kexts can work on any ALC662, not Gigabyte, give me feedback and tell other people.

This method might work on any ALC### if you know how to edit info.plists.

Credit to stickpin.

so im using kext helper b7 to install this.

i open kext helper. load the 3 kexts.

put my password and install. good luck blah blah.

then i restart and i still have no sound.

is there something else i need to do?

Thank you very much :) .

I will fix that the weekend, meanwhile, would you like to share your mod to everybody? Posted here.

If you use headphones (front), line-in (back) switches off? (mine don't)

Edit 1: I will move my 662mobo to the other case with front panel (need to test autonsense with mic-front & headphones), so we can share results.

Edit 2: Here's the version with tmongkol corrections AppleHDA.kext.zip

Please, ALC662 users, post your results with this version

Here are my results:

Line (
green back
) Out working .

Line In (
blue back
) working.

Mic (
pink back
) working.

Headphones (
green front
) working.

Mic (
pink front
) removed in this version.

Speakers not working (pink/blue both at back but haven't found a way to enable them.

Digital Out (
Orange
)? (can't test it, I don't have it)

Thank you

i have a asrock 945gcm-s motherboard, with 662 audio. i installed the kext from this post, the sound out is working (as an HD Audio Output in the pref panel) , but it doesn't recognize my mic.

any ideas? what should i try?

thanks

Hi, just want to share my Modded ALC662 & Sigmatel 9223 with codec verbs.

Realtek ALC662Modded_662_AppleHDA.zip also try links: Post#6 LineOut-Headphone active in LineOut & MicBack-MicFront active in 2nd Mic, post#12 LineOut, Headphone, MicBack active and sepated, cleaner than the one in post#6 thanks to tmongkol. Legacy 662 in post#72 by tmongkol.

As godexsoft says in post #109, VoodooHDA is available from Voodoo Forums it works well.

If you upgraded to 10.5.7 with LegacyHDA you need VoodooHDA or use previous AppleHDA, otherwise Mac OS won't start with LegacyHDA installed.

I'm actualy using LegacyHDA for 10.5.8 & Snow Leopard by tmongkol http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...460&st=100#

VoodooHDA 32/64 for Snow Leopard compiled by tong http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...75372&st=0#

Chameleon 2 is a dream come true! Thanks Voodoo Labs team!!!

Don't forget to Remove (Backup) your ALCInject.kext & HDAEnabler before installing, otherwise it won't work.

AppleHDA.kext posted here contains HDAEnabled edited to use ID 662 or ID 9223.

If System Profiler shows Audio ID: 662 or ID 9223 then it's ok.

Try to install the "With Verbs" version, if it doesn't work, try the "Without Verbs" version.

Thanks to: Taruga, THeKiNG, and MadTux for all your hard work and guides.

I also have intel D945GCLF2 motherboard with atom 330 and none of the AppleHDA.kext versions from this thread seem to work..

They do make the audio preferences pane display things that look right and system profiler tells me that I have a 662, however no noise comes out of the speakers which I suspect is an important feature of most sound cards.

This is for the rear panel, I haven't checked front panel stuff as I have no front panel connector to play with.

Any ideas would be gratefully recieved. ty.

i was able to get the speakers to work i have the same setup from what youv said but i decided to update to snow leopard and it fed up everything so im back to square 1 with the audio and my gma950 graphics card still dosent work

Please I realy need your help. I have Gigabyte GA-73VM-S2 mobo, everything works in Iatkos v3s2 but I really need to make my sound 5.1, it is only 2.0. I tried all te drivers you provided on this thread but no luck. My sound works only with Voodoo HDA kext from the Iatkos dvd, but is only 2.0, and my line out front doesn't work well.

Hello, can you help me? I have motherboard ASUS P5QL SE with audio controller Realtek ALC662. I successfully installed MacOSX Lion 10.7.2 on it, but my sound card didn't work. I have already written sound card information to DSDT. Next I found these 2 kexts in the Internet, but they works partially... The first kext: only rear green output works, but microphone works well! I think, it caused by headphone auto switching, but my front pin doesn't allow detecting cable. The second kext: the front green output works well (such as a rear), but microphone and mute don't work...

Can you modify the kext and add to the first kext working parameters for the front green pin? Thank you for your support, I have just read all thread, but nothing works correctly. Sorry for my bad English, I'm from Russian Federation. :cowboy:

This is the link for the kexts: http://www.multiupload.com/1MN0FUGXZO
