ckybam69 Posted October 23, 2008 Share Posted October 23, 2008 ok so i have tried to isntall ideneb 10.5.5 with all different options and keep getting the please restart the computer screen upon boot. my specs are hp dv5t mobo quanta 3603 chipset - intel pm45 southbridge - 8280 1m (ich9-5) nvidia 9600mgt 2 gigs of memory. i can isntall kalyway 10.5.2 clean with vanilla but i have tried 3 different kernels with denebs distro. any1 have any ideas what i can do to fix this problem cuz im dieing to get to 10.5.5 to have support for my gfx card. raziiq Posted October 23, 2008 Share Posted October 23, 2008 i think iDeneb has some issues with nVidia cards you can check their forums for the solution to this problem. BTW what kind of customization you are doing while installation?? Asus P5KC + Asus nvidia en8600gts 256 Mb.. it kept resetting the system a second after it started booting.. I solved it choosing nvject during installation... good luck! From those specs, you need the "ICHx Fixed" chipset driver, you might want to look in the specs for your machine and see if it has a jmicron controller, if it does, select that also.
