My problem is I do not know what works and what doesnt. I want a performance machine An Intel 45nm Core 2 or Xeon Compatible mainboard 8GB of RAM 2x1TB HDD fastest possible GPU .... what else? krazyazme Posted October 21, 2008 Share Posted October 21, 2008 Well I have the following: Gigabyte Board GA-P35-DS3L Rev 2.0 Proc 2.4 core 2 duo 4 core 8 GB of ram 8800 GTS 512 Nvidia XFX (used efi studio) 2 Western digital sata 500GBs SATA Lite-on DVD Burner make sure its SATA Onboard sound (needs patching) Onboard NIC works out of the box Also there are guides on here. Generic George Posted November 26, 2008 Share Posted November 26, 2008 You might want to look at the Core i7 thread if you are looking for an "ultimate" system. They have had a fair amount of success apparently getting them to work, with no more problems or patches required than many hackintoshes. It consists of; (parts are more than 18 months old now) Gigabyte X38-DS5 mobo Intel Core 2 Quad 6700 overclocked @ 3.0Ghz 8 Gb Kingston HyperX DDR2 1066 3x Seagate 7200 500GB Drives Running software RAID (osx) 2x WD 1TB 7200 Drives Running software RAID (media) Leadtek 8800GT 1GB with 2 x Asus 22" DVI monitors Bought a Bluetooth dongle for $5 and bought an apple wireless KB Xbench score is 220.5 (i'm happy with that) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
