mainecrab
I finally got this version running after about a week of trying. But it still going slower than I would like it to be going. I have installed the developer tools and tried to change something with quartz but I dont have that option to turn beam something off. It is running natively now on a Sempron 3100 with 512 memory. Maybe I need to upgrade my memory? I tried a few speed tricks but none seem to really work. Safari is always slow. ANd usually takes almost all of the cpu. dojo pros
would be better with a athlon processor Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/12919-ways-to-speed-up-1045/#findComment-81973 Share on other sites
Colonel
I think you should get more memory to at least 1GB. I don't know about AMDs, but with my Intel Celeron D, it ran horrible with 512. Now it runs great with 1GB. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/12919-ways-to-speed-up-1045/#findComment-81980 Share on other sites
Sabr
Mmm, is it's anything OS X loves, it's RAM. RAM, RAM, RAM... However, CPU is a big part too... What are the specs of your Sempron 3100? SSE3? XD? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/12919-ways-to-speed-up-1045/#findComment-81990 Share on other sites
mainecrab
It does not have SSE3. And the Athlon remark, I am not sure what to say to that. I think I will take the advice of more ram I have 512 now, so 1GB probably would do it. c0nfused
eh, all upgrading to an Athlon will give you is a bit more cache. You could prolly just clock you processor up to have the same effect.
