Ok I got this Dell-Truemobile from hongkong via Ebay, then i found out there is no AppleAirPortBrcm4311.kext .

So i download pacifist and browsed iAtkos dvd, found it. so i copied it to my desktop then by finder placed it at System/Library/Extensions/IO80211Family.kext/Contents/PlugIns/ .

Now using plisteditor , opened info.plist .i It already has by Device id.

					<key>APRoamTrigger</key>

so i repaired permissions using osx86tools and rebooted. still nothing.

in my haste i i forgot the iAtkos dvd is 10.5.2 and I am running 10.5.4 , so fetching AppleAirPortBrcm4311.kext from dvd was bad idea (using pacifist).

This has completely messed up, the wifi card isnt getting detected obviously.

So now. I am going to do the 10.5.5 update as it has AppleAirPortBrcm4311.kext update too and should bring whole system in-line.

Stay tuned :)

Here is the link for Chun-Nan's Leopard IOPCIFAMILY.kext: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?act...st&id=34679

Updating to 10.5.5 shouldn't be to bad. In fact, other than having to re-edit the plist of the new Brcm4311.kext it installed, it didn't cause me any problems. Just be sure to back up, especially your extensions folder as you might have to reinstall or re-edit kexts you've previously patched to get your H/W working.

my head is {censored}ed. i just cant understand which way to go. i see at uphuck.ggrn.de that , there is a safe way to upgrade to 10.5.5 using some chamelon boot etc... i dont know will upgrading this will fix my IOPCIFAMILY or not.

i also downloaded massive 10.5.4 comboupdate dmg , extracted AppleAirPortBrcm4311 and installed it *Using pacifist* , rebooted with -f STILL no wifi detection :P . why mee goddd why meeee :(

and did u see my output i pasted here for lspci -vvnn . shows HP chip, i am confused on that one too.

NOTE TO MOD: Kindly mark the title as [solved]

well i did this as seen in screenshot and Boom , got fixed ;)

I am still puzzled why didnt i even require to hack the bios for whitelist ;) i screwed up files here (copying broadcom file from 10.5.3 iAtkos on 10.5.4 machine) in panic/anger/haste.

Thanks everyone folks, specially Buildsmart who told me what Exactly i screwed up :>

YES!!! :) I finally got my Dell Truemobile 1390 rev3 working. My problem was the IOPCIFAMILY.kext. Here is the whole story.

I had intel 3945 abg, i bought a dell truemobile 1390, and swaped it. But I couldn't get it to work, i spend whole two days working on it. what I ended up doing is I installed Iatkos v4.1i, then I downloaded the 10.5.4 update from apple website, just like kkk guy has the screenshots for a couple of posts before this one, and I am not sure whether that had any effect on it, my card still wasn't recognized.

Then I downloaded the Chun-Nan's Leopard IOPCIFAMILY.kext from post 6, and installed it using Kext helper. I rebooted, and my wireless card was detected.

I hope this helped someone.

My specs are.

Fujitsu lifebook A6020

Intel core 2 duo

2gb ram

Thank you all, for all the posts.

I attached my IOPCIFAMILY.kext and my IO80211FAMILY.kext in a zipped archieve. If you're a nob, I recomend using a program called Kext Helper to install kexts, it's very easy to use. All you do is drag your kext there, input your password, and press install.

Hey Sireg,

I have the same card as you and krrr but it is rev01, i ran the kextload command and it said my IONetworkingFamily is not compatible, would you be able to upload that kext as well? That would be awesome if you could.

Thanks,

-Benos.

-------------------------------------------------------------

EDIT:

I ended up installing iatkosv4i back over the top of my previous install, and since I changed the ID on my card in linux it was detected straight away.

:D

Thanks for the info guys, it was helpful.

Cheers,

-Benos.
