krrr
Ok I got this Dell-Truemobile from hongkong via Ebay, then i found out there is no AppleAirPortBrcm4311.kext . So i download pacifist and browsed iAtkos dvd, found it. so i copied it to my desktop then by finder placed it at System/Library/Extensions/IO80211Family.kext/Contents/PlugIns/ . Now using plisteditor , opened info.plist .i It already has by Device id. <key>APRoamTrigger</key> <integer>-91</integer> <key>CFBundleIdentifier</key> <string>com.apple.driver.AirPortBrcm43xx</string> <key>IOClass</key> <string>AirPort_Brcm43xx</string> <key>IOMatchCategory</key> <string>IODefaultMatchCategory</string> <key>IONameMatch</key> <array> <string>pci106b,4e</string> <string>pci14e4,4311</string> <string>pci14e4,4312</string> <string>pci14e4,4313</string> <string>pci14e4,4318</string> <string>pci14e4,4319</string> <string>pci14e4,431a</string> <string>pci14e4,4320</string> <string>pci14e4,4324</string> <string>pci14e4,4325</string> <string>pci14e4,4328</string> <string>pci14e4,432b</string> <string>pci14e4,432c</string> <string>pci14e4,432d</string> </array> <key>IOProviderClass</key> <string>IOPCIDevice</string> so i repaired permissions using osx86tools and rebooted. still nothing. krrr
in my haste i i forgot the iAtkos dvd is 10.5.2 and I am running 10.5.4 , so fetching AppleAirPortBrcm4311.kext from dvd was bad idea (using pacifist). krrrs:~ krrr$ sudo kextload -vt /System/Library/Extensions/IO80211Family.kext/Contents/Plugins/AppleAirPortBrcm4311.kext Password: kextload: kext /System/Library/Extensions/Apple02Audio.kext is not valid kextload: kext /System/Library/Extensions/AppleBlower.kext is not valid kextload: kext /System/Library/Extensions/AppleCore99NVRAM.kext is not valid kextload: kext /System/Library/Extensions/AppleCPUThermo.kext is not valid kextload: kext /System/Library/Extensions/AppleDallasDriver.kext is not valid kextload: kext /System/Library/Extensions/AppleFCU.kext is not valid kextload: kext /System/Library/Extensions/AppleFlashNVRAM.kext is not valid kextload: kext /System/Library/Extensions/AppleI2SModemFamily.kext is not valid kextload: kext /System/Library/Extensions/AppleK2SATA.kext is not valid kextload: kext /System/Library/Extensions/AppleK2SATARoot.kext is not valid kextload: kext /System/Library/Extensions/AppleKauaiATA.kext is not valid kextload: kext /System/Library/Extensions/AppleKiwiATA.kext is not valid kextload: kext /System/Library/Extensions/AppleKiwiRoot.kext is not valid kextload: kext /System/Library/Extensions/AppleLM87.kext is not valid kextload: kext /System/Library/Extensions/AppleMacRiscPCI.kext is not valid kextload: kext /System/Library/Extensions/AppleMPIC.kext is not valid kextload: kext /System/Library/Extensions/AppleOnboardAudio.kext is not valid kextload: kext /System/Library/Extensions/ApplePMU.kext is not valid kextload: kext /System/Library/Extensions/AppleSMU.kext is not valid kextload: kext /System/Library/Extensions/AppleSPU.kext is not valid kextload: kext /System/Library/Extensions/AppleVIA.kext is not valid kextload: kext /System/Library/Extensions/AppleVSP.kext is not valid kextload: kext /System/Library/Extensions/ATTOExpressPCIPlus.kext is not valid kextload: kext /System/Library/Extensions/AudioDeviceTreeUpdater.kext is not valid kextload: kext /System/Library/Extensions/CM4040.kext is not valid kextload: kext /System/Library/Extensions/CMD646Root.kext is not valid kextload: kext /System/Library/Extensions/CRYPTOCardPCCard.kext is not valid kextload: kext /System/Library/Extensions/IOADBFamily.kext is not valid kextload: kext /System/Library/Extensions/IOI2CControllerPMU.kext is not valid kextload: kext /System/Library/Extensions/IOI2CControllerPPC.kext is not valid kextload: kext /System/Library/Extensions/IOI2CControllerSMU.kext is not valid kextload: kext /System/Library/Extensions/IOI2CDeviceFCU.kext is not valid kextload: kext /System/Library/Extensions/IOI2CFamily.kext is not valid kextload: kext /System/Library/Extensions/KeyLargoATA.kext is not valid kextload: kext /System/Library/Extensions/LSIUltra320.kext is not valid kextload: kext /System/Library/Extensions/MegaRAID.kext is not valid kextload: kext /System/Library/Extensions/SCR24X_Apple_Driver.kext is not valid kextload: kext /System/Library/Extensions/IONetworkingFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleGMACEthernet.kext is not valid kextload: kext /System/Library/Extensions/IOSerialFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleRS574Serial.kext is not valid kextload: kext /System/Library/Extensions/IOSerialFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleSCCSerial.kext is not valid kextload: kext /System/Library/Extensions/IOSerialFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleVerizonSupport.kext is not valid kextload: kext /System/Library/Extensions/IOSerialFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleVerizonSupportKicker.kext is not valid kextload: kext /System/Library/Extensions/IOSerialFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/InternalUSBModem.kext is not valid kextload: kext /System/Library/Extensions/IOSerialFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/MotorolaSM56K.kext is not valid kextload: resolving dependencies for kernel extensions with validation and authentication failures kernel extension /System/Library/Extensions/IO80211Family.kext/Contents/Plugins/AppleAirPortBrcm4311.kext has problems: Missing dependencies: { "com.apple.iokit.IO80211Family" = "A valid compatible version of this dependency cannot be found" } krrrs:~ krrr$ This has completely messed up, the wifi card isnt getting detected obviously. rnb5500
^^I agree as well. If after you update to 10.5.5 and still can't get it to work, then the problem is most likely with IOPCIFamily.kext.
krrr
Thanks for the replies guys i am not sure i want to do update 10.5.5 i dont see positive results of update anywhere. rnb5500
Here is the link for Chun-Nan's Leopard IOPCIFAMILY.kext: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?act...st&id=34679 Updating to 10.5.5 shouldn't be to bad. In fact, other than having to re-edit the plist of the new Brcm4311.kext it installed, it didn't cause me any problems. Just be sure to back up, especially your extensions folder as you might have to reinstall or re-edit kexts you've previously patched to get your H/W working. sireg
YES!!! I finally got my Dell Truemobile 1390 rev3 working. My problem was the IOPCIFAMILY.kext. Here is the whole story. I had intel 3945 abg, i bought a dell truemobile 1390, and swaped it. But I couldn't get it to work, i spend whole two days working on it. what I ended up doing is I installed Iatkos v4.1i, then I downloaded the 10.5.4 update from apple website, just like kkk guy has the screenshots for a couple of posts before this one, and I am not sure whether that had any effect on it, my card still wasn't recognized. Then I downloaded the Chun-Nan's Leopard IOPCIFAMILY.kext from post 6, and installed it using Kext helper. I rebooted, and my wireless card was detected. I hope this helped someone. My specs are. Fujitsu lifebook A6020 Intel core 2 duo 2gb ram Thank you all, for all the posts. I attached my IOPCIFAMILY.kext and my IO80211FAMILY.kext in a zipped archieve. If you're a nob, I recomend using a program called Kext Helper to install kexts, it's very easy to use. All you do is drag your kext there, input your password, and press install. http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?act...st&id=37288 Archive.zip

That would be awesome if you could. Thanks, -Benos. ------------------------------------------------------------- EDIT: I ended up installing iatkosv4i back over the top of my previous install, and since I changed the ID on my card in linux it was detected straight away. Thanks for the info guys, it was helpful. Cheers, -Benos.
