How to create a proper UniBin Azureus 2.4.0.2 (and higher) yourself

I know Pu7o was kind enough to post a working 2.4.0.2 version in the previous thread but if you're curious as to how you can do it yourself and possibly patch the later versions, read on.

There is a wiki on making a working UniBin but I found out that some steps were not clear, and some steps were unnecessary while I was trying to patch the 2.4.0.2 version myself. After some attempts, here are ten steps to making Azureus a proper UniBin. Until Azureus developers put an updated UniBin SWT in the official release, this should be valid for any imminent future releases since 2.4.0.2.

1. Download SWT with universal binaries (look under Attachment)

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=98889

Latest as of writing is version 3223:

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/attachment.cgi?id=34396

2. Unzip the file. A .jar file and a folder are created:

org.eclipse.swt.carbon.macosx.ppc_3.2.0.jar

org.eclipse.swt.carbon.macosx.ppc_3.2.0.jar Folder

3. rename the .jar file to swt.jar

4. Locate four .jnilib files in the Folder:

libswt-agl-carbon-3223.jnilib

libswt-carbon-3223.jnilib

libswt-pi-carbon-3223.jnilib

libswt-webkit-carbon-3223.jnilib

5. Right-click on Azureus and click 'Show Package Contents'

(remember to do this after you put it in Applications folder)

6. Go to Contents > Resources > Java

7. Replace swt.jar with the one from step 3

8. Go to 'dll' folder and delete all the .jnilib files

9. Put the .jnilib files from step 4 here

10. Close the folders and run Azureus

Quick question,

I can see all of the files you refer to and renamed the .jar file, but when I try to delete the old files, or copy the new ones over top, it tells me that I don't have sufficient privileges even though I'm logged in as administrator (the only account on the machine).

Any ideas?

Just a warning. Any version over 2.4.0.2 will kill your router or DSL. Myself and others have confirmed that 2402 is the safest and most stable atm. UB version are downloadable from the main site. This how-to will be handy when new versions are released and the main site's pages are slow to respond.

Thanks wes..
