maclinux
Anybody seen this? They are looking really sweet. I like the fact that they can take up to 4Gb RAM as opposed to the 2Gb of the MacMini. It looks like it could be OSX compatible too. http://www.dell.com/content/products/produ...;~tab=designtab

If you choose all the best components, it isn't going to be cheap, though: SYSTEM COLOR Slate PROCESSOR Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T8100 (2.1GHz/800Mhz FSB/3MB cache) OPERATING SYSTEM Genuine Windows Vista® Home Premium Service Pack 1 MONITOR No Monitor (System includes DVI and HDMI ports. VGA is not supported) MEMORY 4GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 at 667MHz (2 DIMM) HARD DRIVE 320GB SATA Hard Drive (5400RPM) OPTICAL DRIVE Slot Load CD / DVD Burner (Dual Layer DVD+/-RW Drive) VIDEO CARD Intel® Integrated Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 SOUND Integrated Stereo Audio with 5.1ch digital output (S/P DIF) KEYBOARD & MOUSE Dell USB Multimedia Keyboard & Optical Mouse EXTERNAL MODEM No Modem Included $954 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- A T8100 CPU is nothing impressive, slower than my laptop. OTOH a Mac Mini with the best available specs will cost you the same ($949.00) and will have much lower specs. I wonder why anybody would want to buy such a thing. For that money you either build a great desktop: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...=121219&hl= or you add something and buy a laptop. Detosx
I concede that if I had a very skinny owl, I would buy it the bamboo enclosure one and put the innards (of the computer, not the owl) into my Mac Mini's case. Go to the Dell site and configure up one of those cute computers and see how much it comes to. Holy biodegradable owl droppings! The good news is that the introduction of the Dell will force Apple to think, very carefully, about the long term future of the Mac Mini and how big a revamp they want to give it. The bad news is... at that price point, the Dell will hardly force Apple to lower the price of a future Mac Mini. I am a fan of Jobbs and co but not the parts of their brain that have sawdust in it. Detosx
I just glued a bunch of bamboos to the sides of my desktop computer. It looks so hot a Panda would want to lick it!
SDRacer48
It doesn't even have a Bamboo look. It looks like wood wall paneling from the 1970's... Note: Not my house... Icky!
